Well stocked kitchen. Fully equipped with new and working appliances. Amazing views. Helpful and communicative owner who managed our luggage up the (extensive) stairs for a flat on the 5th floor. When I asked simple questions, the host became irritated. For example, when I asked about adjusting the water temperature in the shower, I was met with an unnecessarily rude response from the host. She mentioned “you are asking for too much go to the Carlton if you need room service. This is 9pm at night and I am with kids”. I didn’t ask her to come to the house to fix it. I simply asked how I could change it. As a guest, I expect clear, polite communication, not the hostility I experienced. As a host, it’s essential to provide clear guidance on how to use amenities. Moreover, there was no mention in the listing about the five flights of long stairs required to reach the property, with no elevator available. This is crucial information that should be disclosed upfront. Especially for potential handicap guests. Not even a simple apology was offered for this oversight.
