"A beautiful place high above the Douro river. Exceptionally helpful staff. The Spa are is included in the room price plus there is an outdoor pool area with a bar which was closed when we visited in Oct. The hotel offers a collection of activities from guided walks, boat trips live music and a variety of wine and port tastings. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes including a wine pairing menu, everything was tasty and well presented. Breakfast was a buffet and included everything you would want however they aren’t geared up for tea drinkers lol. The only small negative is that the room wasn’t cleared of dirty cups or glasses but beds were made and towels changed. If you want to swim inside you must wear a swim cap which are available to buy."

"Gorgeous house with the most incredible view. Rooms are clean and beds are super comfortable. Communication with host was easy and efficient. Lots of up-hill treks around the area if you're into trail running/ walks. The kitchen was well stocked with fruit, yogurt, eggs, bread, snacks, potatoes, onions, canned food etc. They also had inflatable kayaks! Dream holiday!"

Die Schlafzimmer sind mit Klimaanlage ausgestattet, so daß man es auch bei heißen Nächten aushalten konnte. Joao ist ein herzlicher und freundlicher Gastgeber. Wir würden jederzeit dort wieder Urlaub machen."

"We truly enjoyed our stay at the house. The stunning views from the terrace, absolute peace and quiet and a very comfortable home made this a stay to remember. Fátima was super supportive and provided some great tips to go and visit. One of them the O Alpendre restaurant, great food and and very nice owner that brought us home when no taxis were available.I’d recommend this place when you want to visit Porto and the Douro valley, and come back to your own peaceful oasis every night."

"We hebben een fijn verblijf gehad. We waren met een gezin van 4 en met drie slaapkamers had iedereen een prima plek. Bedden waren goed en comfortabel. Verder een ruim huis met grote keuken en aparte woonkamer. Mooie locatie die je het terras op trekt om het dal te bekijken. Het huis was van alle gemakken voorzien. We voelden ons welkom en kregen nog heerlijke kersen van de host. Al met al helemaal goed."
