"The good things first: great breakfast, really nice and friendly staff and the location great in the sense that there is no noise from mc´s or street sounds. The room on the photo was NOT what we got. We got a tiny room with no shelves and no hooks, a tiny bathroom where the toilet was 1 cm away from the shower cabin, no bedlamps but just a bulb under the fan but the most negative aspect was the noise from people talking, walking and everything else that was happening in the vicinity. Yes, it...

Top Caeté-Açu Hotel Reviews

Hotel Canto das Águas

10/10 Excellent

"My new favorite hotel! Charming room and public spaces. Thoughtful touches like blankets for outdoor dining and colored towel clips so you can keep your towels straight. Restaurant has a beautiful view of the river. Nice breakfast buffet. Dinner is good, but a limited menu. Four minute walk to center of town where there are tons of restaurants and shops. Front desk staff doesn’t speak any English, but there is a very helpful concierge who does. Would absolutely stay here again!"

Pousada do Capão

10/10 Excellent

"The place is simply incredible. Its integration with the forest helps you feel within nature the whole time. The staff is always on top of all activities and the amenities elevate the experience all together. Not to mention the breakfast 😍"

Hotel de Lençóis

10/10 Excellent

"Lovely, tropical hotel in a lush settling. Very relaxing. Delicious breakfast surrounded by birds and monkeys. Just delightful."

Hotel Portal Lençóis

8/10 Good

"There was virtually no one else staying in this large hotel when we were there which gave a bit of an odd sense. Rooms were super comfortable, breakfast was too big for us to eat, and the quietness around was lovely. We had trouble communicating and understanding the property and the shuttle to the town was not operating so we had to walk up the hill every evening after deal - not a big deal, but you arrived back hot and sticky every evening. We were looking for some help with hiking trails and where to see wildlife and did not receive that. The town is beautiful and we found some great food choices, but again nothing recommended by the hotel."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Caeté-Acu?

The best area to stay in Caeté-Açu is the village centre, particularly near the main square, Praça da Matriz. This is the main hub of the village, offering easy access to the majority of shops, restaurants, and local services. The area around Praça da Matriz is where you'll find a concentration of guesthouses and Pousadas, making it very convenient for exploring on foot. It's a central point for both daily village life and for organising excursions into the surrounding national park. For those seeking a more secluded and private experience, particularly couples, staying in guesthouses a little further out from the main square, along the roads leading towards the national park entrance, can be ideal. These properties often offer more spacious surroundings, sometimes with private gardens or views of the mountains, providing a peaceful retreat while still being a short walk or taxi ride from the village centre.

When is the best time to go to Caeté-Acu?

The best time to go to Caeté-Acu is during the dry season, which runs from April to September, offering the most reliable weather for outdoor activities.During these months, you'll experience less rainfall and plenty of sunshine, making it ideal for exploring the natural beauty of the region. The trails are generally in better condition for hiking to waterfalls and viewpoints, and the rivers are typically clearer for swimming. For adventurers and those looking to fully experience the Chapada Diamantina National Park, this period is perfect. You'll be able to comfortably enjoy multi-day treks, discover hidden caves, and appreciate the vast landscapes without the interruption of heavy downpours.
