Great value for money

We booked our room above this friendly pub at the last minute, as it offered great value for money. It's a very short walk from the seafront, and the town centre. This is an old building, with uneven floors. Room 5 was ensuite, and really spacious, but definitely not modern. It was clean, but the bed was very squeaky! There was a kettle in the room, with tea and coffee. No toiletries, other than soap. The shower was stuck on a very warm temperature. No breakfast available, but the lovely Chatterbox Cafe is a few steps away. We had dinner at the pub, which was excellent value for money (2 main meals for ยฃ12.49). Drinks are also really cheap. A bottle of prosecco was just ยฃ16! If you're looking for luxury, this is not the place. If youโ€™re looking for great value for money, and a bed for the night, this does the job.

They have had a refurb and it's a real upgrade. Rooms are amazing and the bed was extremely comfortable. Everyone was helpful and the pub has a great atmosphere. Food was also excellent and it was great value all round.

Nice pub, close to sea front

Lovely team, very accommodating. Look after our bicycles in the back room. We certainly stay here again if I was in this neck of the woods. On downside are the noisy seagulls, however, thats the seaside for you, it can't really be helped.

The property is comfortable clean a little dated. The staff were amazing helpful and friendly. The only couple of concerns the rooms are very hot and noisy from the pub downstairs. Fans in the room would be a great idea so you donโ€™t have to have the window open.

Worth the price

Lovely local place, great service from all but one of the staff who was miserable and rude, others were fabulous and couldnโ€™t do enough for you. Room suited our needs, small for a family of 4 but was only used to sleep in. Room was clean, bedding and towels lovely and clean.

This is a pub with 5 rooms upstairs. In need of a refurb. Open until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights with loud music. Punters hang about outside until at least 12.30am. Outside of pub opening hours access is via a metal fire escape. Good quality tea and biscuits.
