"We loved the optional evening gatherings where we could meet other guests. The house has been made into a home by Richard, our host. He has added such a personal touch through the decor. Richard was exceptional - meeting every need with gracious kindness. Catriona was so efficient and practical providing guests delicious food to start each day. John (owner) and Richard (host) are both held in high regard on the island and beyond. There is a deep level of trust on the island. It is safe to move about alone at all hours. We would definitely stay at Ardoran House again if we were to revisit Iona. "

"Fantastic holiday home. Beautiful views of the sea. We saw lots of birds including gannets diving and an otter. The air field was very cool too- we saw three or four planes over the course of the week and the pilot even waved to us in the living room which the children (and adults!) loved. Really well stocked kitchen and all the bathroom gadgets were enjoyed by all.Bedrooms were very comfy and the house had more than enough space for a group of eight made up of two families. "Fae and Marcos are welcoming and did everything to ensure we got the best from our stay. Our room was large, with a fabulous view, the bathroom very large. All done with antique furniture and art old and new on the walls. The lovely cosy lounge with a warming fire was a great place to relax with a tot of whisky kindly offered by Marcus. You could wander around the garden or walk down to the river. Breakfast was superb and cooked to order. A perfect place to base our holiday."

"This was a charming but rustic property. I expected that, as I read the age of the hotel. Tub/shower was a bit rickety, but clean. The rooms are heated with radiators that are on timers...you cannot control the temp yourself. Food at their restaurant was great. The place just needs a bit of TLC."
