Everything felt quaintly charming yet spotless and we particularly enjoyed breakfast with an ocean view on our own balcony, sipping local wines by the fire place (it took a minute to figure out proper ventilation, but worked well enough to spread a romantic mood), taking a bath in our own jacuzzi with the rain drumming on the glass roof, and even making smaller meals in the fully equipped kitchen. Miren gave us the warmest and most personal welcome imaginable, told us some stories about the area, the place, the people, made sure we had everything we needed (including a corkscrew which she happily provided), and gave us a full tour of the property and community room (the view from which is the property cover picture). There is a little convenience store within a 2 minute drive in Anchor Bay which was well stocked, but for proper grocery shopping and more dining options we drove to Gualala as well as Point Arena. The property's direct beach access had been interrupted due to a storm earlier this year, but there are plenty of other small coves you can drive to in no time, as well as access to the same beach via the adjacent camping grounds." The bluff trail along the river between the house and the ocean was a nice walk for our dog. It is only a short drive to free beach access at Walk-on Beach and Shell Beach. Parking spots weren't clearly marked so some people parked one way and sent the other and it made for a very inefficient parking. Philo and Booneville are cute towns, but there is not much to do."
