"Affordably good quality accommodation with fabulous service. From the initial welcome to the time we departed and throughout the stay, we received the most professional, efficient, polite and friendly service from everyone of the hotel’s team we encountered, with special mention to the awesome Simon. The affordable rooms within this historic building are clean and functional; above all, they are very clean and comfortable with modern facilities like free-view television and reliable hotel Wi-Fi. The bed was comfy with crisp linen atop good duvet and pillows all of which aided a good nights sleep (some rooms might be noisy given the proximity to a reasonably busy road). The en-suite bathroom was also spotlessly clean with good water pressure to the shower and soft towels, complemented by some small bottles of shampoo and conditioner. The free breakfast was adequate and welcome, with a basic hot and cold self service buffet selection The hotel is located on the edge of the town centre of Halifax just a ten-minute walk from the railway station and even less of an amble from the bus station, and the same distance to the Peace Hall, also very close to the town's retail and leisure attractions. A good value for money friendly hotel in a good location, I can highly recommend. The hotel has new owners and management."

"Great snug room, mattress was not very comfy, felt like it needed replacing. Lovely food and staff were so friendly. Just be warned if there’s a wedding on it’s so loud in the bedrooms we could get to sleep until late as a result"

"£100 pound pre authorisation charge in addition to your normal invoice. Will not charge any items to room (bar or food) even thou you are staying and they have your card details. Check in was terrible. Was not informed of the above, not even told breakfast times or where to find dining room etc. Hotel extremly quiet, No one in bar. Although the website says has restaurant and literature says is open it most certainly is not. Was closed all the time and only offered bar food. Bar food limited choice and the quality is terrible. Starter came less than five minutes after ordering, Cannot cook from fresh within that time. Obviously had either been pre cooked or was frozen and zapped in microwave. Food was tasteless. Outside at side of hotel looked to be very run down boarded up stable blocks. Also upon taking walk around back of hotel, building at side was falling down with roof carved in. Obviously the hotel management are really proud of the impression they give.... NOT. No staff behind bar and can be waiting ages no matter what time of day. My meal stated chips and got skinny fries which were only just warm. Onion rings were stone cold. Not once did I see staff member to come and enquire was meal ok. Perhaps they knew the answer would get. Hotel is very dated inside with dark doors and furniture in room the same looks like second hand out of an antique shop. Bathroom had a odd smell similar to drain smell and cleaning not good. See photos. AVOID...."

"After a couple of less successful Bradford hotel trips recently, it was a pleasure to find the clean, quiet and safe Cedar Court. It seems a step up in class from the other hotels (for a similar price point) in the area and will certainly be my go to from now on. "

"The room is basic but equal to the much more costly hotels in the area. I was surprised that when I arrived I was charged an additional £5 for parking, unlike the time before but I cant remember in what way I booked the room previously! access is fine as long as you use the motorway access but possibly inconvenient if going Brighouse way but there is access the the local road system via an access point behind the lorry park if wanting to head Brighouse / huddersfield way"

"Very tired property, lots of areas needing repair. Most unfortunate thing was that even though we registered our car on the machine in reception we've been sent a parking fine for £100."
