Other Things to Note: Travel & Transport: Colorado's traction law, active from September 1 to May 31, requires passenger vehicles to have at least one of the following: snow/all-weather/M+S tires with adequate tread of 3/16th of an inch, a four-wheel/all-wheel drive vehicle with all drive wheels engaged, or chains or an approved alternate traction device. These requirements are mandatory on certain highways like I-70 and 285 during the season, regardless of current weather. This includes reasonable expectation of the ability to drive with snow and ice present.
