"Staff friendly and good especially the restaurant manager. Could have fixed the double glazed secondary window as it wouldn’t stay open, did tell them but they didn’t fix it . Proped it open with a coat hanger. Room was reasonably clean. No fridge or safe. Good shower even though it was over the bath. Entrance not inspiring needs a good clean and carpets were past their best."

"Convenient location close to M1 (but not too close). Great car park (with several EV chargers) surrounded by trees. Huge reception with comfy sofas. Great check in by polite and efficient staff. Good size room with masculine decor. A little worn around the edges but very clean. The extremely firm bed suited us. We liked the views from the 4th floor (there were lifts). We used the hotel to break a long journey. The restaurant was slightly pricey, but our food was good. We didn’t stay for breakfast."

"A great getaway hotel with plenty to do and Derby and the Peak District in easy reach. Pros: The Suite with the Balcony was a lovely spacious room, comfortable enormous bed, all the facilities you'd want and a very large bathroom. We made good use of the pool and gym and both a very well maintained and enjoyable. The hotel atrium is such an inviting space with bar and restaurant both lovely and easy to find. Parking is great too, and again access to the main road is close but you still feel firmly out in the countryside. Cons: the Air Con was a little baffling and just wouldn't come on the whole time we were there. The room itself is a bit dated, but that's kind of charming in it's own way."

"Good room, clean and all the things you normally have. Peaceful area and even though there was a wedding party and a prom, we were unable to gear them. Breakfast was lovely, plenty of choice and we had the pizzas at dinner in the bar which tasted great(note for hotel- provide scissors or pizza cutter not knives for customers to cut pizza). Didn't use leisure facilities but will do next time and looked good. Downside for us was the room doors don't just shut, they bang- the 6am bang of the door near us wasn't really how we wanted to wake up- they need slow catches. Other than that it was a lovely stay and will go back. Good access into Nottingham amd other local sites for visitors."

"We stayed here for a weekend trip to Alton Towers after travelling up from the south of England. We paid £36 per room for three rooms, and for that price we were happy with what we got. We were given rooms in the courtyard, which was really convenient as we could park directly outside our doors. The beds were clean and comfortable, which is the most important thing for us. That said, the rooms are looking quite tired. The walls could do with a fresh coat of paint, all of the baths were heavily marked, and overall the rooms would really benefit from a refurbishment. At £36 a room, we accepted that you get what you pay for. We recently looked at booking again for a couple of weeks’ time and were surprised to see the price has almost doubled. Unfortunately, at the new price, we just don’t feel the rooms offer good value for money in their current condition. It’s a shame, as we would have happily returned if the pricing had remained more in line with what the accommodation offers."
