Thoroughly enjoyed my two nights stay at this hotel, my first time here and would certainly return if required. The staff are very friendly and helpful, breakfast and dinner were both fantastic and the bedroom was very comfortable and had a great nights sleep.

Perfect for babies
The best baby friendly hotel. Zero stress and felt like nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly staff and amazing facilities and family friendly offering.
Amazing, relaxed hotel that is very well catered to children as well as adults. Great facilities. A mattress upgrade might be nice in the future but we’ll definitely stay again.
Very friendly and informative staff. The breakfast was delicious. My daughter loved the mini cinema night with popcorn. All round fantastic stay for a family
The general ambiance was excellent, homely but with a high level of service. A gem of a building. It was nice to have the young families and dogs around!
Loved staying here. The rooms are cosy, the staff absolutely brilliant and just a feeling of being looked after and cared for. The outdoor and indoor pool were a real treat and the food was great - plenty of options for gluten/dairy free. The house is old and has lots of character and it felt like staying somewhere really cosy. Beautiful location, will definitely be back
We’ve had amazing time here. The staff have been amazing throughout, kind and patient. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with Bramley products. The food is delicious. They have a number of green spaces to walk through that, with good weather, provides a lovely alternative to the indoor spaces. The area is very quiet which adds to the relaxing environment. We visited during term time, so it may be different in the school holidays. We hope to visit again soon.
This was a great place to stay for the night. Extremely friendly and welcoming staff and a great setting. The building is very quirky with loads of character and a really homely feel. The food in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast was great, good choice and all tasted fresh. Used the pool and spa area which wasn't huge but very well kept and good facilities. Really reasonable room rate with breakfast included. The grounds looked like it had some nice garden areas but didn't I get chance to look round it all. Overall, couldn't fault it and would definitely stay there again next time I'm in the area.
The hotel is an island of tranquility. The hosts are extremely friendly and attentive. The house, built in 1706, has an extraordinary atmosphere. The sights of the area are easily accessible and there are a few great country restaurants nearby. I can only recommend it.
We had a lovely stay at this hotel and the room was very nice. Breakfast was lovely. Only improvement I would recommend is a printed diagram showing where all facilities are or a link emailed on arrival. Didn’t manage to find the outside pool
Room did not have a shower, no restaurant on site or near by. Staff was great, service was excellent - they let me use a shower in another room but that sink didn’t have hot water. Would not recommend for business travel
Gorgeous property and setting. Lovely staff. Would definitely say its for families as opposed to couples though - several children there and if you are wanting to get away for peace and quiet although it still is very peaceful location its not the same as a couples retreat, especially when in the spa/swimming pool. We will likely return but with our two children - they would love it and we will as a family!
I was really looking forward to staying at this hotel due to the quiet location, decor and reviews I had read. All of my expectations were surpassed and I found myself continuously delighted by small gestures, thoughtful touches and the creative imagination of the lovely hotel proprietor.
Staying in this tastefully decorated country house hotel is an 'experience' you will treasure. There is something special in the atmosphere and walls of this old Jacobean house that feels healing, restorative and comforting. Like the building wants to cuddle and comfort all who visit. If you need to get away from it all, then this may be what you are looking for; not just an attractive place with a spa, but a 'feeling'.
All of the staff I engaged with were thoughtful and intuitive in the way they attended to guests needs.
I ordered the Summer Sausage - the dish was packed with depth of flavour, a superb gravy. The restaurant caters for all dietary variations. The breakfast is the best offering I have seen in a UK hotel. They offer a wide range of healthy options, fruits, seeds and excellent cooked dishes; I had Eggs Florentine on gluten free bread. Coffee with oat milk. Breakfast included in room price.
The rooms have names. I loved the decor, rustic features, the art and treasures around the hotel. Peaceful gardens. Very comfy bed, quiet. Such thoughtful imaginative facilities for families/children. Spa facilities were clean. Guests not showering after sauna and diving in was a shame

Great location and helpful staff, but room certainly not luxury.
Unfortunately the bed and mattress were of very poor quality combined with an extreme mattress topper that resulted in very poor quality sleep on the first night.
We mentioned this to staff the next day and they did kindly look into whether they could move us to another room, however this would have involved moving room every night of our stay and being without a room for several hours each day which would have added to the disruption. We were also given the impression that the beds were of a similar quality in other rooms.
Staff were helpful, kindly removed the mattress topper for us when we explained that this seemed to be resulting in the bed feeling like a bouncy castle (when one moved in their sleep the other would be disturbed by this being transmitted across the bed).
This slightly improved things but then it was possible to feel the wire frame of what felt like a very poor quality open coil mattress below.
The bedding felt of the quality one might more associate with a hostel than a luxury hotel. We could not understand why there are not better mattresses throughout as this would be a relatively small cost to the hotel.
Overall Wooley Grange was sightly less well renovated throughout than some other hotels from the Luxury Family Hotels group that we have stayed with. This might not have put us off staying again had the quality of the bed at least been good. Sadly we would not stay until renovated.
