![We almost skipped this Midtown restaurant after being turned away the night before but I am glad we went back and gave it a second try. This immensely popular eatery seems to always be packed so unless you make a reservation, go soon after they open to at least snag a seat at the bar. We shared the steak tartare and charred octopus with a glass of rose. ![The view from the patio of Green Dot Stables is of the backside of the currently abandoned and forever in some state of rehabilitation, Michigan Central Station.

The station opened in 1913 and remained operational until 1988. At the time of its construction, it was the tallest rail station in the world.

A personal connection to this building would be that my father shipped out from this station to Marine boot camp after being drafted in the Korean War.
