"My family had a wonderful week at the Royal Sonesta! It’s the perfect size resort—not too big, not too small—and the location cannot be beat. My 10-year-old played with new friends every day at the pool and beach, and our teens took advantage of the gym every morning (on vacation??). Even with a few flaws (read on), I give it 5 stars, and will absolutely stay here again when I return to San Juan! The 5 of us stayed in connecting oceanfront rooms (King + 2Q). The view was stunning and the King room had a surprisingly comfortable sofa bed. A mini-fridge came with each room. The lagoon-style pool has plenty of space and didn’t feel overcrowded, even during Spring Break. The beach is just steps away. As expected during a holiday week, lounge chairs at the pool—especially shaded ones—were difficult to come by unless you went early. The hotel should purchase more chairs/umbrellas, as there was plenty of space available. Also, poolside wait service was limited; the hotel would benefit from more staff. We ate at three on-site restaurants and everything was quite good. The breakfast buffet was a standout with a huge variety and very friendly staff—especially Emanuel, who will be happy to give you local recommendations. Elevators were crowded and the key bracelets didn’t always work smoothly when accessing your floor. Next time I’ll book a poolside terrace room for easier access (and lounge chairs!) Staff friendliness was a bit uneven, esp among front desk staff and bartenders."

"We arrived very early after a cruise, they held our luggage and gave us passes to a near by beach club. The staff was excellent, the shuttle driver was excellent, the club was excellent. The pool looked beuatiful but we did not have time to spend there on this trip. We will definately choose this same hotel when we go back to San Juan."
