The Olde Post Office was clean, charming, and convenient. Lots of thoughtful touches throughout. Great location and great value. The private-access walks to view sunsets over the water were a magical bonus.
The Olde Post Office Cottage is adorabley decorated, has everything needed for a comfortable stay and conveniently located to grocery, beach and attractions. Janet has been an wonderful host and a pleasure to work with. I have stayed here twice and looking forward to a third visit!
It looks straight out of a storybook with great amenities and lovely grounds. We were able to have a fire in the fire pit which was so much fun and being close to the lighthouse was a huge perk. The host was kind and accessible. I would definitely composer staying at this property again.
For many years we camped in this area of Maine with our children and loved it. The children have grown and we returned to visit our favorite spots! We did some hiking, visited lighthouses, ate seafood, and enjoyed views of the ocean as much as possible!
This was exactly the type of property we were looking for...property was very welcoming...description was spot-on...flowers in gardens and window boxes were amazing...location was peaceful...our only disappointment was not being able to stay longer!
perfect starting place to do our two a day walks on the loop road. Weather between 58 and 70. Sea gull food is great. plenty of places to eat . House accommodations are perfect for any couple. Price is right. RB
We love this location and space. The property manager was a sweetheart and helped us immediately when we reached out. The house is wonderful and perfect for relaxing and having down time. The yard was great to watch the meteor shower.
Thank you so much!
A nice small cottage, that's perfect for 1-2 people. It's a great location for exploring the Pemaquid peninsula. The cottage was clean and the description and picture showed exactly what you were getting. It is located on the main road down to the lighthouse and was busy on the weekend but only during daylight hours, but I was expecting that. I enjoyed my stay there and would take it again if I wanted to stay in Pemaquid.
I fell in love with this cottage from the pictures in the listing, and it did not disappoint! It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. The landscaping and outdoor decor were just as charming as the inside. The location was ideal for exploring the beautiful Maine coast, the lighthouse and museum, area restaurants, and shopping in the quaint nearby towns. Janet was a fantastic host....always quick to communicate and give recommendations for places to visit. She left us a gift of Maine maple syrup and a sweet note upon our arrival. My daughter-in-law and I really enjoyed our stay, and we plan to return soon!
We stayed at the cottage for Christmas holiday. It was perfect. Beautifully decorated. Bed is super comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed. Special treat was the Maine maple syrupand a jar of blueberry jam we were given along with a beautiful Christmas card which I will be placing in a frame. We walked the Pemaquid loop every morning and enjoyed the beautiful ocean views. A total gem of a small cottage for two.
This is our second time staying in the old post office and we are already dreaming of returning. The location is a short walk to the Pemaquid Lighthouse, and to Johns Bay (a perfect place to see the sunset.) The cottage is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The bed is very comfortable. It is a small cottage but it's very cozy and well-appointed, and the outdoor space is so inviting, we spent as much time as we could having tea or breakfast on the front porch, and dinner in the garden. Janet is a wonderful host and very responsive.
We spent a week at the location. Great stay. Came up there to do a little whale watching, eat some Lobster and have a good week site seeing. The property was immaculate, everything we needed. Overall I can't recommend this location enough. Not to mention we had a great whale watching trip and ate way too much Lobster. Only thing I can say about this property that would be a minor problem, the bed is just to soft. It's very comfortable once you get situated. This was noted in other reviews. Not a big deal, but if you're not spry it's a challenge.
Very charming cottage with everything you need. Clean and cozy, with a handwritten note and goodies from the host waiting onn he counter. We will definitely be back to stay here.
Beautiful grounds, walking distance to bay, charmingly decorated. Comfy bed and couch. The space is small, but the owner has done all she can to accommodate modern comforts. Great location in relation to sight seeing around the whole area.
Very relaxing, had everything one would need and both inside and out were picturesque. Loved going to the lighthouse at sunrise and sunset. Host responded promptly to a question we had
Arrived at the cottage to find so many special little touches to the accommodations, it set the perfect tone for a memorable stay and a great vacation.
