Guests have access to a fully equipped kitchen and are provided with bed linens and towels. Upon arrival, our staff will be waiting at the apartment to explain how everything works and to hand over the keys. During your stay, our staff is available to address any requests or concerns. The first architectural element to catch the eye of the guests is the magnificent walnut double door, with carved lintel, which grants access to the apartment. The entrance leads directly into the beautiful dining room, whose walls are decorated with old wood paneling in solid walnut or finished, like the rest of the apartment, with Venetian plaster in shades of cream. The resulting combination creates an extremely warm and welcoming atmosphere, a place to relax or work in peace. The dining room is undoubtedly dominated by a magnificent table from the 19th century, engraved with floral motives and able to accommodate up to 6 people. The rich golden mirrors on the walls, made with the ancient technique of mercury, are in the typical liberty style, while the large chest of drawers behind the table dates back to the 17th century. The bookcase placed in front of the table contains a flat-screen TV 52\\"(with 3D glasses provided) and the control centre of the audio system of the apartment (AUX cable connection), which is equipped with amplifiers in each room. The spectacular swivel design lamp can be used to shed light both on the table and in the living room. The real living area lies behind the dining room and consists of one sofa Roche Bobois (it converts into a comfortable double bed 200 x 160 cm). Next to it you can find a wonderful Florentine “trumeau” dated 1715, which proposes a mix of past and future that characterizes the whole property. Right next to this relaxation corner, there is the impressive kitchen. It is a wonderful kitchen designed by Archeo, fully equipped and provided with every tool, including a Nespresso coffee machine. The cooking area that stands out since it is made of a composite smooth white material, is longer than 3.5 meter and it allows you to indulge in the preparation of many different recipes. This kitchen is a real must for fans of the kitchen who visit the capital of Emilia. Access to the sleeping area is granted by a corridor leading to the rooms. The apartment has two bedrooms. The guest room is furnished with two single beds (which can be joined to form a double bed) and a custom-made closet. In the master bedroom, in front of the double bed, finished in white leather, there is an impressive wardrobe from the 17th century in Piedmont style. It is a real work of art, which belonged to a noble family and made according to the style of the fashions of the time. In particular, the brass handcrafted hinges also reflect the quality of craftsmanship made in Italy today. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom furnished with Murano chandeliers and handmade pottery by Etruria. Also the second bathroom has the same finishes and, like the first, has a large shower. The apartment is suitable for people who want to pamper themselves with every comfort. The finishes are top level, as the brand new wooden anti-noise and anti-thermal shutters, or the base of the floors, made of Carrara marble, or even the presence of very silent air conditioning splits in every room. Important: guests are required to pay a tourist tax not included in the price (€ 4,60 per adult, per night. It is applied only on the first 5 nights). Area: The apartment is located in the heart of the historical center of Bologna, between Strada Maggiore and Via Santo Stefano. The position of the property is highly strategic, in order to visit the architectonic and artistic beauties of the city center, and it is located at a few minutes from the Giardini Margherita, the largest green area of the center. In the vicinity there are all kind of shops, pharmacies and banks; along Via Santo Stefano there are numerous bars, typical restaurants and trattorias. Public transportation: As the apartment lies in the centre of Bologna, the area is well served by public transport. Along Via Santo Stefano and Via Rizzoli you can take buses to reach the fair, hospitals and the train station or you can take the airport shuttle bus. Parking: The apartment is within the restricted traffic area (ZTL) and an access-ticket is required. You may park in the street, on the places indicated with blue stripes, free of charge on Sundays and every night from 20:00 to 8:00; and upon payment (red parking meter) during the day. You may also park in the private garage San Petronio Vecchio, or in the Garage Farini (Vicolo San Damiano 3/3a). Here you may also fill a form to get access to the restricted traffic area. We chose Bologna as our home base because of it's central location to the regions we wanted to visit. WOW! We had no preconception of what to discover in this wonderful city. We never want to leave. This apartment was a great place to return after a day of touring around the region. Stay in and rest or get cleaned up to head out for more. The most complete kitchen setup I have every seen in a rental property. Fabulous window to let in the sounds and air of the city or incredibly quiet to keep them out and let you sleep. Eisdiele gegenüber macht Eis in Form von Rosen! Und unten ist eine Bäkerei, Bushaltestelle in direkter Nähe, sowie Texistand. Zu Fuß erreicht man Fußgängerzone mit vielen Restaurants und Bars. Alle Sehenwürdigkeiten sind schnell zu erreichen. Die Wohnung ist wirklich schick und neu (Küche, Bäder - die besten, die ich bisher in Italien erlebte!), mit Klimaanlage. Wir würden wiederkommen. Kleinigkeiten - nicht einfach mit dem Auto den Weg in der Altstadt zu finden, Beschreibung des Weges und Parkmöglichkeiten fehlten (empfielt sich explizit danach zu fragen); das kleinere Zimmer hat 2 einfache Betten und Nachttisch mit Lampe, 1/3 des Zimmers besetzt ein Tisch mit Stühlen, die man nicht nutzen darf (zugedeckt mit Malerabdeckung). Schade. Die Kleiderschränke sind unpraktisch und teilweise mit Bettwäsche und anderen Kramm vollgestopft. Bei längerem Aufenthalt wäre das problematisch. There was plenty of space for 4 of us. It was an easy walk to all the sights of the old city. There is a great pastry shop downstairs for breakfast and snacks, and plenty of other restaurants and stores close by. We enjoyed our stay very much. The only thing I would change is that the doors to the bathrooms and bedrooms had glass panes which were only partially obscured glass, so you could definitely see into the rooms. I guess if you were close family or friends who wanted to get to know each other a little better, you wouldn’t mind, but my teenaged boys weren’t happy with it. Another thing to be aware of is that you cannot easily bring a car into the old town of Bologna, so the parking outside was about a 12-15 minute walk. ##### Kimberly C.
