The listed vicarage has been carefully converted into two vacation maisonettes with a spacious hallway in between. Each apartment can be rented separately, but the whole house can also be rented. Apartment 'Farbwelt' is described here (apartment 'Durchblick' in separate advertisement): This apartment is decorated in calm shades of yellow and grey, with color walls in warm red and blue that harmonize with the old castle floorboards. The centerpiece is the eat-in kitchen with high ceiling on the ground floor (36.5m²), in the middle of which stands the oak table with cast-iron machine base. Also on the ground floor is a double bedroom and the modern bathroom with walk-in shower. A steel spiral staircase leads to the living and TV room on the upper floor (27.5m²) with high-quality sofas and Persian carpet, old chest and secretary from the Goethe era. Adjacent are a double and a single room. A further bedroom (17.5m²) can be added at an extra charge. The garden is furnished with French bistro furniture (outside socket available). We are architects and fell in love with this historic building next to the church ruins when we discovered the old vicarage on an excursion. We spent over a year renovating it and converting it into vacation apartments. In addition to locally commissioned craftsmen, we also did a lot of work ourselves. We really enjoy the old vicarage itself: the special atmosphere next to the ruins with kestrels, the quiet garden, the good neighborhood in the village. We were impressed by the tasteful interior and art, and also by the very friendly welcome by the sexton of the neighbouring church. Clearly a lot of effort has been put into renovating this house in a classic / antique style while making it very liveable at the same time. Then there's the spacious lawn out in front where you can relax in the shade of an actual church (ruin), and the village of Huttenrode which, while not as 'fancy' as closeby Blankenburg is still very charming. The town is also well-situated to explore the wider Harz area, close to e.g. the Bode gorge. ##### Steven R. In unmittelbarer Nähe beziehungsweise direkt vor der Tür gibt es viel zu entdecken, schöne Wanderwege und viel Harzer Geschichte. Die Gastgeber haben den Charakter des alten Pfarrhaus mit viel Liebe zum Detail erhalten. Der Harz, mit seinen herrlichen Wandermöglichkeiten und die tolle Landschaft runden das Gesamtbild ab.
