This family-friendly accommodation is located in the Solmar holiday village in Blanes. The charming town of Blanes is considered the gateway to the Costa Brava and is just a few kilometres from Lloret de Mar, with its wide range of attractions for holidaymakers. The beach is just a few minutes’ walk from the resort, making it ideal for families with children. The resort offers all the amenities for an unforgettable family holiday: a pool area with a large pool for adults and a pool with a slide and water features for the little ones, entertainment and a kids’ club, a playground, a supermarket, two restaurants, bike rentals, and a range of sports and recreational facilities.
The apartment is located above the resort’s supermarket, which is directly across from the resort, and can accommodate up to 6 people (ideally including 1 child up to 12 years old). The apartment features a master bedroom with a double bed and a bunk bed in the hallway. In the living area, a sofa bed provides two additional sleeping spots. Also in the living area is the well-equipped kitchen with dishes, silverware, pots, a glass-ceramic stove with 2 burners, a microwave, a capsule coffee machine, and a small refrigerator with a freezer compartment. The bathroom is equipped with a shower, a sink, and a toilet. The covered balcony with a table and chairs is perfect for relaxing. Satellite TV, air conditioning, bed linens, and towels are included. Wi-Fi is available as an option. Parking is not included; it can only be booked on-site, subject to availability (approx. €12/night, as of 2023). If needed, a “baby pack” consisting of a cot, a high chair, and a children’s plate can be booked as an add-on. Travel time from the Spanish border is approximately 1.5 hours. Note: If you need more than one accommodation, this is usually possible with us, as we have several properties of the same style.
ARRIVAL DATE + LENGTH OF STAY
Please refer to the calendar for the arrival and departure dates as well as the minimum length of stay during your desired season. Note: If, for any reason, you are unable to arrive on the scheduled arrival date, check-in on the following day is of course possible (please notify us before arrival). The same applies if you wish to depart early. In this case as well, departure on the previous day is possible. However, the rental period and price specified at the time of booking will remain unchanged.
BEACH
The holiday village is located just a few minutes’ walk from the sandy beach of S’Abanell. This gives you quick and convenient access to the longest and widest of Blanes’ four beaches. The beach is very clean and has been awarded the Blue Flag by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). You can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs on the beach to relax and enjoy the sun. But there’s plenty to do for sports and entertainment as well: the entertainment programme and various (water) sports activities—such as kayaking, windsurfing, scuba diving, water skiing, fishing, boat tours, canoeing, and the fitness equipment along the beach promenade—make the hours fly by. There is also a playground for children. You can grab a quick bite to eat at one of the many beach snack bars. Lifeguards ensure your safety during the swimming season.
POOL
The beautiful pool area attracts young and old alike with its cool water. In addition to the large adult pool, starting in 201'9, a children’s pool with a slide and water features is sure to make children’s eyes light up. Sun loungers and umbrellas are available free of charge around the pools for relaxation. Those who prefer a more active lifestyle can take advantage of activities like aqua aerobics, offered by the entertainment team. After all that exercise, a light snack at the poolside restaurant is just what you need. A lifeguard ensures your safety throughout the season.
FAMILY-FRIENDLY
At Solmar Holiday Village, the whole family will find something to enjoy. The professional, multilingual entertainment team provides fun for all age groups. For children ages 4 to 12, the mini-club offers arts and crafts, various workshops, face painting, magic shows, games, and a mini-disco. For children ages 12 and up, various sports tournaments such as football, basketball, volleyball, and petanque are organised. Two playgrounds are available for children. Adults can stay in shape with aqua aerobics, Zumba, salsa, or merengue. If you don’t want to fall into bed exhausted after a long day, you can enjoy a great evening of live music, a disco, magic shows, and dancing.
LEISURE AND SPORTS
The resort features a tennis court and two paddle tennis courts (both for a fee), an artificial turf football field, a sports field (for basketball, volleyball, etc.), table tennis tables, and petanque courts. On the beach, you can enjoy various water sports such as windsurfing, scuba diving, kayaking, or sailing. With the sports classes organised by the entertainment team—such as Zumba, aqua aerobics, or salsa—there’s never a dull moment. Bicycle rentals are also available.
SHOPPING
The resort has its own supermarket, located directly across from the resort. There you’ll find a wide selection of everyday items, fruits and vegetables, bread, frozen foods, drinks, wines, and spirits, as well as camping gear.
DINING
The accommodation features a well-equipped kitchen with dishes, silverware, pots, a glass-ceramic stove, a microwave, a coffee maker, and a refrigerator with a freezer compartment. Shopping options are also nearby. Guests who prefer not to cook during their holiday can dine at one of the two restaurants. The restaurant at the entrance offers a daily special, tapas, and simple dishes. At the restaurant by the pool, guests can enjoy pizzas, pasta, tapas, and many other dishes, among other options.

LOCATION AND SURROUNDINGS
Blanes is a beautiful seaside resort in the typical Catalan style. It is the southernmost town on the Costa Brava and is therefore also considered the gateway to the Costa Brava. Thanks to this great location, Blanes is the ideal starting point for exploring both the wild, rugged Costa Brava and the Costa de Barcelona with its long sandy beaches. Picturesque fishing villages, delicious food, steep cliffs, beautiful beaches, crystal-clear water, and, of course, the sun make the Costa Brava (Catalonia’s rugged, wild coast) a popular holiday destination. There’s something for everyone on the Costa Brava. Not only sunbathers, but also partygoers, hikers, mountain bikers, and culture lovers will find everything their hearts desire here. The nightlife is excellent, too! Blanes is a delight to explore while shopping and strolling along the beautiful beach promenade. If you get hungry along the way, countless restaurants await you, serving local specialities, international cuisine, or fish fresh from the market. The two beautiful botanical gardens in Blanes are perfect for relaxing and letting your mind wander while enjoying a stunning view of the sea. In July, Blanes hosts the Costa Brava International Fireworks Competition. Let yourself be enchanted by the sparkles in the sky. You’ll find great souvenirs at the Blanes weekly market, which takes place every Monday along the beach promenade. From Monday through Saturday, there’s also a large daily fruit and vegetable market in the centre of the seaside resort, where you can buy delicious fresh produce. Blanes is ideally located for day trips to nearby and more distant destinations. Near Santa Susana, the Activ Natura Park awaits adventure seekers: here, you can put your agility to the test at the climbing park in a beautiful, shady grove. For adventure seekers, the area also offers quad bike, motorcycle, and mountain bike tours, as well as laser combat and archery. Water lovers will be in heaven here: there are two water parks in the immediate vicinity. Marineland is less than a quarter of an hour away by car. In addition to a variety of slides and water play areas, you can admire dolphins and sea lions in exciting shows. In Lloret de Mar, Water World offers top-notch entertainment. This water park is one of the largest in Europe and features a wide range of water attractions for all ages. With the many slides, soft slides, fast water rides, the breathtaking Kamikaze slide, and the wave pool, there’s never a dull moment. For the little ones, there’s a slightly calmer area with a children’s paddling pool, water play features, and a fantastic pirate ship. For those interested in the country’s culture, Lloret de Mar also has plenty to offer. Built in the Catalan Art Nouveau style, the Church of Sant Romà—consecrated in 1522—impresses both locals and visitors alike. Originally built to provide protection from pirates, the church was rebuilt in its current style in the 19th century by the “Indianos.” One of the scenic highlights in Lloret de Mar is Santa Clotilde Gardens, a breathtaking park on the steep slopes offering a unique view of the sea. The Italian Renaissance style can be admired in many places here, and the small ponds and fountains complete the romantic atmosphere. Terraces, bridges, and sculptures, nestled among beautiful flower beds, shrubs, hedges, and all kinds of greenery, make for a relaxing outing. In the evening, Lloret de Mar transforms into a vibrant party scene and comes highly recommended for nightlife enthusiasts. We also recommend Barcelona as a day trip. This vibrant metropolis captivates visitors with countless sights, a wide range of culinary options, and numerous shopping opportunities. Stroll along the Rambla, enjoy the magnificent view of the city and the sea from Montjuïc Hill (accessible by cable car), or explore Park Güell, designed by Antonio Gaudí. As you stroll through the city, you’ll continually discover Gaudí’s unique architecture, and of course, no visit would be complete without a tour of the city’s landmark, the Sagrada Familia. Construction is still underway on this cathedral, which Gaudí began, and it offers the astonished eye an impressive variety of details and architectural styles. At the Barcelona Zoo, it’s not just children’s eyes that light up when observing the many animal species. Here you can discover lions, tigers, elephants, gorillas, dolphins, and much more.
