Starting with the good things: the location is beautiful (even though not unparalleled in Hokkaido), both the private onsen in the room and the larger private onsens that can be used for free were great to use. In terms of things we did not like: as mentioned in other reviews, the property feels dated (e.g. the state of the onsens) - would be ok for a public onsen but less so for an expensive hotel. We more most disappointed by the breakfast and how it was handled: we shared in the reservation that we are vegetarians and would like to have this accommodated - no reaction and we were told when checking in that this is simply not possible to cater for. While Japan can be still tricky for vegetarians, all other (and cheaper!) places we stayed at could cater for us and prepared some brilliant dishes.This shows that this is not about what's doable just simply not caring." A simple warm air blowing heater kept us comfortably warm (no aircon but not needed in late October). The water went cold after one shower but was hot again by the morning. I reported weak wifi and was given an in-room wired hub which worked; except that on both evenings the hotel’s internet connection dropped out repeatedly. We made do for a couple of nights but wouldn't consider returning." We were two couples and took two Japanese-style rooms, both of which were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making us feel very welcome from the start. The setting is beautiful—peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by lush greenery. The hotel also has a beautifully designed and well-kept onsen, perfect for relaxing after a day outdoors. We enjoyed the large community room with relaxing massage chairs and games. Breakfast was delicious, with many different dishes. The location couldn’t be better for hiking and sightseeing in the nearby parks. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy nature, warm hospitality, and a truly relaxing experience.
