Det var en super oplevelse at bo på dette hotel. Charmerende gammel restaurantlokaler, mens værelset incl. badværelse var nyrenoveret. Trods beliggenheden central i den gamle bydel var der ingen støj.
Extremely friendly staff! After checking us in she accompanied us to our room. The room was clean and neat, but simple. Very small elevator, so not great with a lot of luggage.
Breakfast was very good. Location of the hotel is excellent. Once you park your car you can walk everywhere. We were there during Christmas Markets and the town is magical!
Very authentic Weinstube with friendly owners.
Modern room with great shower.
Public areas very atmospheric.
Can get hot in the upstairs rooms even with a fan on.
I loved the historic charm of the reception area and dining rooms. The bedrooms/baths were well renovated, modern, and very comfortable. Buffet breakfasts were outstanding! We also enjoyed a very delicious German dinner with excellent service by the waiter.
Excellent location in Bernkastel. Parking was readily available only 200 meters away for 5 euros for 3 days. Excellent food in an old German building Staff were very helpful when American Airlines lost our luggage for 4 days.
Easy enough to find on foot, so we parked by the river and walked to the hotel in just a few minutes.
The rooms were lovely.
Restaurant looked expensive for evening meal, but plenty of places round about.
We were not offered anything hot at breakfast, but we heard that other guests were offered eggs and these were freshly cooked.
The holiday is a mixture of old and new. Rooms are modern and very clean, whilst the reception and restaurant to old. Staff were very helpful booking us a taxi and making us a pack up breakfast.
Walked in and was welcome from the first moment. The owner spoke perfect English!! He switched our room, as we arrived earlier in the day and allowed us to check in. Even though the Cellar and restaurant was closed for the week were there, and most other things in town as well , we were not disappointed!!! Extremely comfortable room!! Great night sleep! Very peaceful!! Walking distance to everything!!! We will come back in the summer, when things are hopping for sure!! And will stay here for sure!!!
Relaxing stay at a quiet and comfortable place. Close to Frankfurt Hahn Airport. Excellent location if flying from Frankfurt Hahn or taking a Mosselle river cruise
We found this timber framed original hotel wonderfully relaxing with friendly helpful staff. The food was excellent and it was centrally located allowing us to walk out into the medieval town. The river Mosel flowed past the end of the road and we enjoyed an informative river boat trip. The local wine is grown in vineyards above the town - all in all a great place to stay.

Disliked: Staff & service, room comfort
A night stop in an old style hotel
Difficult to find the hotel if you drive there and parking is quite far from hotel. Hotel restaurant is decent.
Perfect location on the edge of the Cafe and walking areas. Wonderful breakfast with excellent service. We would definitely stay here again. Reviews were spot on.
Its a quaint hotel right in the middle of the old town area, great location. Its very pleasant and relaxing. There's no parking, but parking down near the waterfront and paying per hour is the easiest and cheapest option. The rooms themselves are nice, newly renovated, the bathrooms in particular are newly down
My only complaint was that the wifi never worked--the password they gave me kept coming back as invalid--which meant I ate up a lot of my international data package. But the location was great and parking was easy. We never ate in the hotel and cannot comment on that. A wine key in the room would have been a nice touch.
My husband and I first saw the hotel while enjoying a River Cruise for our 25th Anniversary in 2013. While exploring Bernkastel, we happened to walk into Doctor Weinstube and I vowed we would make a return visit to stay at this very interesting hotel sometime in the future. My husband is currently working in Frankfurt and we were very keen to revisit this beautiful area. I would highly recommend Doctor Weinstube, not only for its historical value, but for the comfort of the rooms and also the excellent evening meal and breakfast we enjoyed in the restaurant. Many thanks, we will return!
Gorgeous hotel, with classic German charm in the common areas, and completely modern guest rooms. The spa was not quite what we had hoped for, but overall couldn't have asked for a better location, friendlier staff, or more comfortable accommodations.
Doctor Weinstube has recently renovated rooms within a historic building - best of both worlds. It's on one of the pedestrian blocks in the told city - convenient location.
As per some other reviews, although the main body of the hotel is in the original style, the rooms are very modern and stylish. We also ate at the hotel and the food was fabulous. The staff were extremely helpful. Overall a great stay.
Tricky access by car and parking could be a problem. Rooms are comfortable but a little dark. Restaurant is great and very atmospheric. location is superb for accessing town and touring the wine region.
