Really tired hotel. I’d imagine about 20 years ago it would have been fantastic, but not today. Food was okay but plentiful, drink options were okay.

No longer a 5-star resort – the cutbacks are obvious. At best it is a 3*
This hotel is no longer fit to be 5-star. In my opinion, cost-cutting by management/ownership is to blame, not the hard-working staff.
Gluten-free: We were told before travelling that they cater for it. They don’t, not safely. Guests used the gluten-free utensils on their plates of normal food, then served themselves from the gluten-free dishes. At checkout we were told gluten intolerance is “not common in Turkey”. Coeliacs beware.
Food: Limited variety, dishes repeated every day or two. The fish on the buffet was raw on first occassion, so did not risk again.
Hygiene: Dirty glasses, and staff reusing dirty glasses, which I witnessed a number of times around the pool bar. Only one staff memeber checked they were clean & put dirty ones aside. Another staff member then used those ones put to the side for drinks! Used soap in our room on arrival. Dirty towels on arrival and throughout the stay all were threadbare and not fresh-smelling.
Rooms: Peeling paint, frayed corridor carpets, weak shower pressure, fridge not cool, air con limited to 20°C, no dressing gowns despite the photos.
Facilities: A lift always out of order, cold sauna, Turkish bath cold then out of order. Beer Barrel open 2–8, not 1–9 as shown in photos.
Entertainment: No water polo, timings not kept, poolside activities made up as they went along.
Guest services refused to log my complaint.
Book a different 5-star in Lara. Or a 4*!

"Loved the Topkapi theme all over the resort which traditional Turkish palace vibe. Pools were super clean and well maintained.
