A family Labor Day tradition
We love VT- we love this place! The front porch is the best just hanging out after a long day of activities, breakfast and cocktails. So convenient to Manchester village and restaurants. This place has now become our family Labor Day tradition
We had a very nice visit- House was well equipped, clean and our host was responsive when we had trouble with access initially.
The grandkids enjoyed the board games and the adults appreciated the location- such a beautiful neighborhood!
Wish the kitchen was “eat in” and the stairs (like in many historic homes) were a bit steep for little ones and/or elderly folks. Nice layout in the second floor and the beds were very comfortable.
I will have fond memories of this trip and this house, where we spent quality time with our family of 4 couples. While this house is not "modern", it had all the conveniences of a modern home, down to pull out kitchen cabinets. I have never experienced a house, particularly of this age, so impeccably clean - you could eat off the floors! And I wouldn't call it old as much as I'd call it "antique" - brimming with beautiful furniture accents. There were large and separate rooms for us to enjoy solitude when we sought it, as in the cozy library brimming with classics to historically significant newspapers, or for the six of us to join together when we wanted in the woodburning stove living room. As an avid cook, I found the kitchen had EVERYTHING I needed, and the KitchenAid stovetop and oven (yes, I cooked in the oven) were quality - they just don't make them like they used to! The beds were extremely comfortable, the linens - quality. Our dog never felt so at home away from home, with a little patch of nature out back that she liked to walk in. We skied at Stratton the entire weekend and found the 25-minute drive very convenient and scenic. The proximity to the Equinox and other spots within walking distance, and the short drive to restaurants, Shaws market, the outlets, etc. make this the perfect location. I have to stress the cleanliness again! We all loved this house, including my young adult children!
The property was more than we expected. Communication with the owner was perfect. We will most definitely stay again. But this time hopefully in the spring so we can enjoy the weather as well. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
The property is centrally located in a beautiful neighborhood of Manchester, just steps from the Equinox Hotel. The house in general is run down: the bathrooms are old, the kitchen is very outdated and the furniture is old and musty. Although we knew the house would be old as it is a historic property, we were disappointed and felt that the listing was misleading.
This property was perfect for my family of 6. The house had plenty of room, tv worked great for streaming and cable was great to catch some Masters. Kitchen had everything you could need and want. Front porch was perfect for morning coffee. Sidewalks were great to walk our dog. Parking is limited to 2 cars which was fine for us. Heat worked great, fireplace was nice at night. It was perfect for our needs and we look forward to coming back!
Such a great week in VT. For years I've been staying on Stratton Mountain. This was a much more enjoyable experience for less money. Super fun house to cook dinner for friends in, hang out on the porch, wander across the street for yoga and cozy up to the fire. Will definitely return!

Wonderful!
This is our second visit with Storied Stay. And, again, it was a perfect location for walks to Equinox Pond and day trips for other nearby hikes. Being close to town made getting groceries and other needs convenient. And the wood stove was a highlight again. Hope to return again!
We came to Manchester for a wedding and the Wickham House was the perfect stay. We have little ones that needed to travel with us - and the house was perfect for grandma to stretch out and watch the kids while we popped back and forth to wedding activities. We LOVED the front porch and rocking chairs - perfect for people watching, sipping coffee and rocking a baby to sleep. The kitchen had everything we needed, bathrooms and bedrooms clean and well stocked, and the location was PERFECT! A nice walk in to town, proximate to many things, quiet and beautiful. The managers were very communicative and made the check in/out process easy and seamless. I would definitely stay here again if we return! Local highlights include downtown Manchester, the Equinox hotel and Hildene home to Abraham Lincoln!
We had our family vacation over Labor Day with 3 adult kids, my husband and I.
The Wickham House was just the right place. The porch was our family spot for ‘porch chats’ over cocktails and breakfast. The house was in prime location of walking to town and restaurants. Also a short drive to Bromley mountain where we went for lots of fun activities and adventure. Highly recommend this place. Very comfortable home.
Great place in a nice location, close to the Equinox, Taconic, etc. The owner was very attentive and responsive. The place was very clean. We hope to come back again soon!
We booked our Autumn vacation late this year and found all our favorite hotels to booked. When we saw this gem of a property, the Wickam House, on VRBO we jumped on it. This vintage property has the all the charm of a historic home set in a great location.
Storied Stay was perfect for my family of my husband and me as well as my two adult sons and my daughter-in-law. Lots of room in the home including a living room and porch that we loved. Plus it was very close to the Equinox Hotel where my husband had a meeting. Honestly, the Equinox is not nearly as nice as I'm sure it has been in the past. If you have a choice, you will be much happier at Storied Stay.
The house is beautiful and perfectly located to be convenient to every place in Manchester that you will want to visit. Lovely fall view right from the front porch. You would love it!
Good communication and check-in process. Would highly recommend the property!

Great Home Rental in Manchester
Storied Stay provided a perfect Manchester stay for myself and all guests. The house is beautiful, offering a historic New England feel with modernized appliances and accommodations . The house is clean, spacious and located right in the center of town. The owner is responsive and check-in/out was very easy. I would definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our stay tremendously. The home is spotless clean and has a fully loaded kitchen as you would have at home. The bedrooms were spacious with lovely linens. The location is fabulous. You are 3 homes from the Equinox resort and a short drive to Main Street. Highly recommend this home. Manchester has much to offer.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Wickham House and highly recommend it! We decided to rent a house this time around so that we could visit Vermont but still stay relatively secluded given the current pandemic. We loved having such a beautiful home to return to after skiing in nearby Stratton and were able to prepare all of our meals in the fully appointed kitchen. As a family with two young girls and a dog, we were all quite cozy next to the fire, playing games and enjoying our dinners. The rooms were beautifully decorated. I feel like the bathrooms could use some updating because I'm a bit of a snob in that area, but they were accurately represented in the listings and were perfectly clean and functional. Check in and check out process were flawless. We also really appreciated that we were allowed to bring our little toy poodle. All around a great place to rent.
