The sol pelicanos is in an excellent location, a short walk from shops, many bars and restaurants and the beach. The staff were great and welcoming however on checking in we were given a room which had not been cleaned so we were then given a second room. This room had been turned around but the cleaning of the room was far from what I expected as over the first day there I found the shower tiles covered in dried shower gel and the balcony furniture had what appeared to be dried ketchup on it. The air conditioning was leaky dripping water all over the floor but I could not be bothered with the hassle of going back to reception with my bags so just accepted this wasn’t the quality of hotel I thought I’d booked.
The entertainment was good, especially for children leaving many a parent free to enjoy themselves. The pool is excellent, only marred by the pool bar not being in use, I expect due to Covid restrictions which is out of the hotels control.
We were able to keep our room until 2pm free of charge which was nice allowing us to sleep in and not rush to leave.
Overall this is an average hotel at best living off its name. At around £140 per night, there are better hotels for your money in Benidorm.
