A Haven in the Heart of Elk Country
Located only one mile from the town of Benezette, Buck Haven Lodge is a cabin that offers close proximity to Elk Country’s best attractions, but also boasts 6 private acres of wooded land for tenants to enjoy. Elk routinely move through the old-growth hemlock and pine, with masses of native ferns coloring the forest floor.
The newly renovated Buck Haven Lodge has two bedrooms, a full bath, a fully-stocked kitchen, and a cozy living room complete with a propane fire place. Whether you are interested in elk viewing, fishing, hunting, hiking or just experiencing the beauty of the Pennsylvania mountains, Buck Haven Lodge offers both convenience of location and enough privacy to enjoy your getaway.
The living area boasts a spacious, open floor plan. The kitchen has large appliances including a full-sized refrigerator, propane stove and oven, and microwave. Small appliances such as a coffee pot and toaster are available, as well as a generous number of other items to ensure you have everything you need to prepare and enjoy a meal, such as pots, pans, bakeware, serving utensils, plates, cups, eating utensils, etc. The living room has enough seating for everyone with a couch (which is a sleeper sofa that can accommodate extra guests), loveseat and a recliner. For those chilly nights in the mountains, guests can enjoy the propane fireplace. There is a flat-screen television with Dish Network and WiFi, as well.
There is a spacious, full bathroom with a commode, sink, and bathtub/shower combination. There are two bedrooms, each bedroom has a window looking out at the woods behind the cabin, a queen-sized bed and generous closet.
For those looking to relax by a campfire and enjoy the mountain air, there is a custom-made fire ring with swinging grates for cooking over the fire. There are also two Adirondack chairs at the front side of the cabin for guests to relax in while enjoying mountain views.

This was a beautiful stay! The place was clean and the host was very friendly and accomidating. Close to all the "elk viewing" areas. Will definitely come back again.
We had a wonderful family weekend getaway to celebrate our daughter’s birthday. The cottage was cozy and perfect for us . The location to the elk welcome center and state parks was perfect .
We had a nice relaxing weekend. A heard of elk welcomed us on Friday at the Elk lick campground and moved to the house next door then crossed thr road and stayed there all weekend between the cabin and Benezette campground…We had great time!
We had a amazing stay; this camp had all the amenities and close to everything

Great location
We enjoyed a nice weekend getaway. We saw lots of elk and whitetail deer. Drove up to the amazing Kinzua Bridge and had a delicious dinner at the Benezette hotel and coffee and ice cream at Elk Life! Cabin was a great location for all the things we wanted to do.
Our stay at BHL was very comfortable. It had all the comforts of home but in a country setting. We were able to view the wildlife. nearby and just totally relax. The lodge was equipped with everything you could possibly need.I would highly recommend this area. There are great restaurants nearby
Great cabin in a convenient location for Elk Viewing
This cabin was a wonderful find! It is the perfect size for four adults and is very well stocked, furnished, and decorated to enhance the enjoyment and relaxation of the area. The cabin is immaculate and you can tell there is pride in ownership and the ability to provided a perfect stay.
Our last evening there, we saw four elk across the road. Amazing! We will stay here again when we visit the area!
The house was perfect and the location was also perfect for us. Thank you for being a pet friendly place. We seen lots of elk across the road and in the backyard of the cabin. We will definitely stay here again and we already referred family to stay here too. Thanks again
This little cabin was perfect for our family’s quick getaway to nature. This basic and tidy place boasts a well-stocked and functional kitchen, as well as a cozy gas fireplace. There was some timber being cut in the back of the property, which makes for different scenery than the online picture; however, there was no work being done while we stayed there, so it was quiet. The cabin is close to several hiking areas and friendly local restaurants & shops. We really enjoyed our stay and would return again!
Very nice location place was nice an clean an beds where comfortable only complaint is the ones who had to sleep on pull out bed said is wasnt comfortable at all will most diffently stay there again
very cute, cozy yet roomy, very comfortable and relaxing.
We talked about something that would make it even better. a covered porch the entire side of house that is used as the main entrance.
we loved it so much, we have been telling friends about it and we would love to stay there in the future.
Great little place for our party of 5 adults. Property was clean and in good order. Beds were comfortable and pull out was as comfortable as they typically are. Easy communication with owner. Close to a lot of attractions in Benezett.
The cabin sits just off Rt. 555 so there is sometimes a lot of traffic going by when sitting out by the fire but, it is quiet inside the cabin. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.
We had a great time getaway away from life for the weekend. We wanted to enjoy nature and see some Elk. We spotted a heard of elk on the way to our home away from home and continued to see some throughout the weekend. The rental is a cozy little place that is clean and nicly decorated to make you feel like you are at a cabin. The kitchen had all the gadgets we needed. We cooked on the grill that was provided. We definitely look forward to coming back!
This was our second trip to the Benezette in six weeks. Bryan and Jenn are super hosts. This was the second house we rented from them My wife and I, and the two pups, continued our exploring of the area/region. This time we were not disappointed by seeing some Elk up close. We actually saw a single Bull Elk standing in a yard while we were driving around. Very impressive!
The local hotel is a great place for a meal, snacks and beverages. Enjoy!!!
The house was clean and well kept. The kitchen was well stocked, and had a variety of odds and ends. The gas fireplace created a warm, cozy environment, and kept up comfortable all night. It took us a bit to figure out that the unit would kick off occasionally, but would eventually come back on. My only recommendation would be to let renters know in the listing that bedding is an extra expense. This is not disclosed until after booking. Thanks for everything!
Booked this cabin for a quick family getaway to Elk County. Owners were very responsive and provided all necessary information prior to our arrival. When we arrived everything was very clean as described. The only thing that put a damper on the beautiful view of the property were pallets of building material in the backyard. The water in the house also had a strong Sulphur smell but I attributed that to staying in the mountains. Overall we had a lovely time and were able to see lots of Elk!

Inside was clean warm and comfortable. Outside needs a little cleaning up around the property. The most disappointment was not having any linen for beds. It would be nice if this was spelled out in the brochure or description of the property. The entrance was unsafe because the snow wasn’t removed before we arrived and eventually turned to ice.
