Benalma Hotel Costa del Sol

"We only stayed for 2 nights and, for our purposes, the hotel was good. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The view from the balcony and dining room was incredible. The highlight was seeing a huge pod of dolphins come in very close to the shore on our last morning. Most of the staff were friendly and very helpful, especially the man working behind the lobby bar (I didn’t catch his name). When I found out the hotel parking was €19 per day and there was free parking available on the street, the member of staff at reception let me move my car free of charge, which i really appreciated. I think if we were staying for more than 2 days, we wouldn’t have enjoyed it all that much. Compared to other all-inclusive hotels we’ve stayed in, the range of food choices wasn’t particularly interesting. It was fine for a short time but we would likely have ended up going out for meals had we been staying longer. Also, the room where the entertainment is held really isn’t suitable for the number of guests - lots of people having to stand and the view of the performance area is blocked by pillars from quite a few places in the room. We didn’t go to the bigger family pool area but the adult pool was very nice. Overall, it was good for a short stay but any longer and I’d be expecting more for my money."

"Arrived slightly earlier than check in but room was ready ... Very clean with water and towel animal waiting for us, which the kids loved. All members of staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. Pool area did become a little cluttered at times with cups and paper plates but otherwise all clean. Entertainment staff did not stop, kids loved the pool entertainment, especially the foam party! Nice touch having Benny the tiger visit at breakfast and dinner. Breakfast and dinner food quality was great, all fresh better than expected. Egg station was fab. Did try lunch once as was half board and could swap dinner over but dinner was much nicer, room for lunch abit bleak. Location wise, abit of a walk into main area but we knew that and didn't want to be in the main drag - still plenty of restaurants and bars near by. 5 mins walk to the beach. Daily cinema, football pitch, padle court, separate spa area with lounge beds, all clean. Hotel feels like it should be busy given the size but never waited for anything. Was on floor 5 above pub but didn't hear the entertainment. Would stay again if in the area."

"This has to be a hidden gem we know the area very well and it suited our needs for an overnight stay perfectly. The Staff were excellent very courteous and I don’t think anything would have been a problem to them"
Sunset Beach Club Hotel Apartments

"We had a lovely time on our family holiday and enjoyed the facilities of this 4 star hotel. The rooms though dated are still well appointed and are due to be upgraded this winter. Would consider going back as long as the upgrades don’t increase the price too much. Special mention to the panorama bar, terraza and tiki bar"
