We were welcome by Nicoletta who make every effort to answer all our concerns .All the staffs including the team at the boat house ,staff organising the volleyball in the afternoon cleaners and porters are courteous and make me proud to be Mauritian leaving abroad .

We were treated like absolute royalty the whole time. Staff are so attentive and managers keen to make sure we were happy throughout the day. Nothing was too much trouble. Housekeeping was consistently high standard and Babita was always so friendly and accommodating. The food and drink offerings were amazing, with lots of different venues within the resort, each with their own unique characters. The Italian restaurant was my favourite. There were so many water sports available as well as other activities. The evening entertainment showed a variety of musical acts, with special event evenings as well that were brilliantly implemented. The spa is beautiful as well. Ambre represents excellent value for money with all the little extras that are included. We really hope to return!

The staff were very approachable and friendly and the ambience was nice. However food wise, much improvement needed in terms of the variety and 4* standards. Property is a bit dated. Ambre Suite could do with much improvement, there's big space but not smartly laid out out. Overall I would rate it 7/10.

Absolutely amazing stay . The suite was amazing with 2 larges rooms and 1 large bathroom and 1 shower room which was great as we could stay all together mother Dad and 20 years old son . The restaurants are absolutely great and staff look after you in good manners . Food is fresh. I must say they have the best fruits to offer on daily basics. Mauritius food is the best and I will recommamd anyone to try . A special thank you to all the staff for making our stay memorable. Thank you Veema Hotess & Ravi's from Indigo - Thank you Annick from Italian Restaurant - Thank you Shahil the beach boy bringing our drinks and Thank you Dheerej who helped me to book the beach restaurant when it was fully booked. We loved it so much we are planning to review our wedding vase in Mauritius for 2026 .

The stay was very memorable, the dining experience was great, however it was hard to book for the 2 other restaurants. The room was a bit underwhelming, nothing special even the walls were not completely straight, painting on them was second rate, some hard to reach places were full of dust or sand which may be acceptable for some given the location, but for us it was a slight letdown. It was not unclean by any means but for a 4 star hotel we’d expect more. We had also trouble to get the 2 bottles of water every day, one day we had to call 5 times and ended up grabbing it ourselves. Some staff were not very helpful, but some went the extra mile and more. Which is why I can recommend the place. The taxi liaison lady was excellent in coordinating our trips and Chef Kenny at the La Plage was incredible. He made our honeymoon dinner unforgettable. I would go back there, when its not season to make it a bit more affordable, for the price we paid I’d expect a bit more.

The Ambre delivered on many fronts and its reputation lies very squarely on its staff. We had excellent service throughout our stay , lots of choice for meals, lots of sun beds (although there was the rush to secure them pretty early and then disappear off to other areas leaving a lack of the more popular ones) The biggest bug bear for us was the smokers around the pool. There is a dedicated smoking area just outside reception but most smokers lit up at their sun beds....cigarettes, pipes and even little thin cigars. It spoiled the holiday for us...we just couldnt get away from the smoke. The hotel (while well run and with the beautiful hard working anazing people) was not luxury...it was old and tired in many places..we changed rooms on rhe 1st day due to issues. I tripped outside the gym and fell cutting my knee which was caused by an uneven raised flagstone. We loved the view and the weather even the rain....but it wasnt quite as amazing as it looks on photos and videos we saw before we came. Many thank to the staff. They really are amazing.

Overall a fantastic stay for my 30th birthday! The staff are all so helpful and attentive. What we loved: Staff gave me a birthday cake surprise at dinner - thank you so much Sayid. The house keeping also decorated my bed with a happy birthday message which was so lovely. Staff were also friendly, attentive that they made sure I was comfortable as I was also pregnant. The dolce vita restaurant was delicious - thanks Kenny for serving us! Our room was comfortable, spacious and very quiet so we couldn’t hear other guests. The food at the buffet was delicious and I liked the variety. You can book a taxi from the hotel. The beach is lovely and clean and on a hot day it’s beautiful to relax there. Lots of activities at the hotel and excursions from hotel available. I also used the spa facilities and enjoyed a massage and facial. What could be improved: East of the island can be very windy and we went during the winter season and the pool was cold so maybe the hotel could add some heating to the pool. At breakfast first few days there was decafe coffee but then none so for pregnant guests etc. please ensure decafe tea and coffee is available. Also sometimes at breakfast had to wait a long time before you get tea or coffee served. At checkout the porter said it would be few mins to come get our bags from the room (we called at 11:45am) but only came after 1 hour to with the bags which was stressful as taxi to the airport was waiting so have separate checkout & checkin porter!

Great location, beach and pool.

All personell - regardless of catagory - from the Chefs of the main restaurant and the Beach restaurant to waitresses, beach boys and cleaning staff were friendly and helpful: top marks. Beach is excellent with palm trees. As for swimming in the ocean, consider protective swimming shoes because of corals. The pool is very good and well cleaned. For a relaxing place, we would highly recommend it!

Nice place to view once, but I won't be back. The all inclusive is not really all inclusive but some inclusive. My favourite drink is Negroni and Capirinha and those were not on the All inclusive list, so you have to pay for them. All the cocktails I tried were tasteless and mostly water alcohol and sugar. All coktails taste the same. Not happy with the quality of drinks. Also the sailing, I was trying to sail 3 days in a row, wasn't available. from what I seen only weekend you can do sailing. If you book during week days as I did, you don't get all the services you need. Another anoying part is the first come first served process on everything. People getting up at 5 in the morning to get a chair by the pool. I'm not a morning person so I couldn't get a place near the pool. Same with the restorants. All "fully booked" from before

Nous avons adoré notre séjour ! La chambre avec vue sur la mer (et ses magnifiques levers de soleil !) était parfaitement équipée. Le personnel était adorable et soucieux de notre bien être ; la nourriture était très bonne et variée ; les équipements (avec accès avant l’horaire de checkin et après le checkout) sont des +++ Le seul bémol est que notre séjour était trop court :)
