Great location in a charming town

Posted 17-Aug-2015
Pros: Location, room size
Cons: Breakfast is average, evening hors d' oeuvres are very basic.
Location: Wonderful restaurants and boutique shopping. Lovely town for walking and relaxing.
The breakfast is only average, but the location and room size of this historic inn are both very good.

July 4th Get Away Weekend

Posted 06-Jul-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: AC, WIFI and Breakfast
Location: Close to Bay Street where all of the shops and restaurants are located in Beaufort.
Nice location with a friendly staff but overpriced for what you get during your stay. When my wife and I arrived we were informed that our reservations had been cancelled. We showed the staff our confirmation and they placed us in another room. We did not get the room we requested when we made the reservation. The AC did not work the first night. A maintenance employee worked on the AC the next day and we had AC the 2nd night. The WIFI does not work in the cottages next to the Rhett Inn. We talked with our neighbors and they had the same issues with the WIFI. Ordered eggs, bacon, sausage and ham for breakafast. Received one piece of bacon, one small sausage link and one piece of paper thin ham. Overrated for the price per night!

So sorry you did not have the experience you were looking for. Hargray, our internet service provider was experiencing problems that weekend, but that is out of our control. We apologize though, it has not happened since. You are welcome to have more of anything you would like at breakfast. Just ask the servers. I was surprised you did not feel you got enough for the price. We give more complimentary services than any other inn in Beaufort. Here's a list: Two glasses of complimentary champagne on arrival Hor d' oeuvres during Happy Hour 3 complimentary deserts after dinner. 2 pies and a cake made by our pastry Chef. A complimentary made to order breakfast by Chef Beverly homemade cookies, tea, and lemonade all day free soft drinks and bottled water free beach chairs and towels free bikes free access to the exclusive Sanctuary Golf Club, tennis, and pool

Historic building in a historic town

Posted 11-May-2015
Pros: Historic nature
Cons: Reception & the bed
When we arrived, there was nobody at the reception desk. After a few minutes I walked into an adjacent room to ask if anybody was at reception. Was told by a man that somebody would be with us shortly. Waited another 5 minutes before somebody showed up. Also the bed in our room needs a new mattress. Overall, we like the town but the hotel was not worth the price we paid.

Wonderful place to stay. Food was great and our room was clean. I would have liked a better bed, it was lumpy.

Beaufort trip

Posted 06-Mar-2015 on Hotels
We had a great time. The room (6) was good except for the carpet needs to be cleaned. There was a spot on it that was very gross when you walked across it like something had been spilled and dried on it. It is at the foot of the bed at the left corner looking at the bed.

Close to town

Posted 01-Mar-2015
Pros: Friendly, charming and homey.
Cons: Nothing
Location: Shops, restaurants and waterfront area are all within walking distance.
Our first visit to Beaufort, SC. We were just stopping by on our way home from Florida. Unfortunately, we did not have as much time as we would have liked to explore the area; maybe next time. We would definitely stay at Rhett House Inn again.

Rhett House B and B

Posted 28-Feb-2015 on Hotels
Wonderful B and B with helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, evening snacks, and delicious desserts. Our bed in room 2 needs a new mattress, work on the shower, and a light bulb needs to be replaced in the bathroom.

The Best of Beaufort

Posted 09-Feb-2015 on Hotels
A charming small hotel, a gem in fact. Beautifully appointed rooms, extremely accommodating staff. Delicious full breakfast; wine and crudités from 5 to 7; desserts around 8 pm. The hotel is just a block from the main part of Beaufort. I can't imagine staying any place else in Beaufort!
