We enjoyed the staff, the gourmet breakfast and the room. The breakfast host was delightful. The buildings were historic and beautiful. The location was convenient to shopping, restaurants and entertainment. One negative is the bathroom was a little beat up - the towel bars were hanging out of the wall, the shower tile was cracked as was the pedestal sink.

Great staff, lovely room and common areas. Breakfast was delicious and made to order. One block off King St. for shopping, and conveniently located to College of Charleston, the market and the riverfront. We walked everywhere! If there was a negative it would be that there is a large parking lot behind the property. Overall, an excellent value and stay!

We were there for a wedding and wanted to stay in an inn. The Barksdale exceeded our expectations. The staff was so friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts and afternoon tea (or wine!) was lovely. Our room was comfortable and charming. The location was great - right between Market and King streets, walkable to everywhere. We highly recommend The Barksdale!

Great location in the French quarter. Walking distance to most attractions. Breakfast from boxed items. No thrills, but good. Fruits, snacks, water and coffee available all the time. It's an old building, which fits in the atmosphere of the area.

The location is perfect, in the heart of the historic district. We were able to walk everywhere. The staff were friendly and treated us like family. Staying here, felt like home. The location was perfect! A few steps away from King Street and walkable to most landmarks that we wanted to see. Safe a nice neighborhood with lots of shops and places to eat. The Inn itself, was charming and comfortable. Awesome hospitality and staff. Great free breakfast and afternoon snacks. The room was a bit small, but comfortable. It is an old house, so expect a bit of sounds...creaky floors, crying baby, barking dog and a few voices. Nothing that interrupted our stay though. Loved everything about it! If you are looking for modern or state of the art facilities then this is not the place for you. For us, we enjoyed the charm, history, home feel that this place provided.
