"Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Wonderful staff, incredible food, clean and comfortable rooms, beautiful views! Lots of stairs and steep narrow roads so not the best place for people with mobility issues. We loved it and highly recommend!"

"In every way, this is a spectacular property . World class panoramic views, iconic location, thoughtful communications, spotless cleanliness, well equipped to accommodate two couples for a week of luxurious living.Seamless check-in. Heated pool! The small details that make a difference, like a wine gift basket, generous selection of bath and pool towels, comfortable linens, heat! ( many Madeira houses are not adequately heated), Weber charcoal grill, reliable internet, multiple ensuite balconies with views and quality construction finishes. The excellent dedicated parking is a necessity on the steep, narrow, and fun municipal road. "

"The house met expectations. Killer view. Correspondence with the property manager was mediocre at best. The pool was not heated when we got there and took five of the seven days to get to temperatures the booking said it would. "

"We had a truly wonderful stay at Nelson’s house in Calheta. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed. The house has such a cozy and inviting atmosphere, it immediately felt like a home away from home.One of the highlights for us was the beautiful garden & ocean view. It’s clearly cared for with love, and it creates such a peaceful setting to relax and enjoy the surroundings. The view from the property is absolutely stunning, and spending time outside, whether in the morning or at sunset, was a real pleasure.The house itself was very comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. It suited us perfectly and provided a great base to unwind and enjoy the area.As mentioned in the description, it is a cliff house, so you walk down to reach it. Parking is available on the side of the road, and there are steps leading to the house. For us, the steps were completely manageable, but it may not be suitable for someone with mobility difficulties.Overall, we really enjoyed the house, the garden, and the incredible view. It was the perfect place for what we needed, and we would happily stay again."

"Our stay was fantastic from start to finish (we were a group of 6 friends). As mentioned in the listing, it’s really two apartments (connected by an outdoor set of stairs). The top apartment has a huge living room with fantastic views and plenty of sofas, a large kitchen with everything you would need to cook meals (as well as a big table to sit at) and 3 bedrooms (two double beds and a room with 3 singles). The second lower apartment also had a kitchen as well as living room area with a pool table and dartboard (great for evenings in), as well as twin room and double bedroom. To top it all off a large pool area with lots of space to sit around and also with spectacular views. Outside there’s a BBQ and a great swing-seat which is ideal for watching the sunset.Emma and Quim are great hosts, always there to answer questions, resolve any issues and providing clear instructions for meeting them to check in (as well as tips on the local area). If you are looking at the listing, do not hesitate to book as it’s absolutely fantastic and ideal for a large group of adults. We’d love to return one day."
