"This Hotel is a MUST to stay in.As you drive up you think you are in a time machine as you approach this gorgeous edifice from another century.Th...e rooms are spacious and you feel as if you are either in a castle or a museum. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming. Located only a short walk from the ferrys to the islands.breakfast was out of thos world.Fantastic choices everyday with spectacular service.This is the Hotel to choose if you are going to visit Lake Maggiore. "My husband and I stayed for a week, and enjoyed it very much. The condo is equipped with everything, there is nothing you would miss - starting from the umbrella in the rare case of rain, to the adapter you forgot at home. I worked from the condo, and brought an extra screen, and although the apartment was not advertised for it, I could make it work. The host is super responsive and helpful. The airconditioning in the bedroom is great, we slept well. The kitchen and living room can get pretty warm, but this is Europe in the summer! It is in the description, but understand this has a steep staircase and is not appropriate for anyone who has trouble walking, or walking upstairs. Can definitely recommend!"

"Laura and Davide’s home in the peaceful village of Calogna nestled in the hills overlooking Lake Maggiore is truly fabulous. If you’re looking for a property where you are able to step off the treadmill of daily life, rest and recharge, then this house is definitely the one for you.Vrbo’s description and pictures of Casa Gardenghi are accurate but it is even better in reality.This beautiful home lacked nothing, tastefully decorated, comfortable furnishings, large peaceful garden and a ‘dipping pool’ ideal for cooling off on hot days. The views of the lake are stunning from the terrace, balcony, lounge and dining room picture window.If you are lucky enough to stay here, don’t miss the treat of rising early one morning to catch the sunrise over the mountains on the eastern shore of the lake.Thank you Laura and Davide for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home and for the warm welcome on our arrival.We would love to return and stay longer next time."

"This house had many nice features, including the very large room size. The living room, dining room, patio and bedrooms were airy and comfortable.The deck overlooking the train and lake was very nice and we used it most evenings. The trains are pretty quiet and didn't bother us at all, in fact we kind of enjoyed them. Belgirate had a few good restaurants and a nice walk along the river although we stayed there for its proximity to Stresa which is an active town with many restaurants and shopping. The only downsides to the house included the paucity of supplies for the kitchen and bathroom. There were no dish towels or paper towels in the kitchen, there was no effective working coffeemaker ( a MUST for our family), not many coffee cups and we were provided a tiny little container of dish soap and one dishwasher pod. Likewise for the bathroom no soap or kleenex and only ONE roll of toilet paper.I feel these small issues could be easily remedied for about 50 and I would give this house a higher review."
