Holiday Rental “Alte Bäckerei Bautzen”<br><br>History of the Property<br>The property was built in 1890 as an apartment building with commercial space on the ground floor.<br>For many years, the property was used by the family and expanded with an addition to serve as a bakery. This allowed work and family life to coexist under one roof.<br><br>Around 1988, the bakery closed because there was no successor. The shop was then used as a butcher shop for a few years until the windows and doors were bricked up in the 1990s.<br>Around the turn of the 21st century, the apartments on the upper floor were renovated and refurbished, and some were used by the heirs.<br><br>In February 2018, we purchased the property because of its excellent location in the city centre and planned to convert the old bakery into our company headquarters, including an apartment and holiday rentals. We began with a complete renovation of the ground floor and modernizations to the building.<br>The first phase of renovation was completed in late November 2018, with the ground-floor store now finished; the holiday rental was also refurnished and partially renovated. Further renovations and upgrades to the property and the second holiday rental followed in early 2020. As of January 2021, the office will be transformed into a modern, family-friendly holiday apartment featuring two children’s rooms with bunk beds, a spacious master bedroom (with an optional rollaway bed), a fully equipped kitchen with a counter for quick meals, and a living room with large windows overlooking the city centre...<br><br>As a result, some work is still underway, and further renovations are planned. We therefore ask for your understanding if this means there are contractors in the building or if not everything is finished yet.<br><br><br><br>Location & Info<br>Located right in the heart of Bautzen, our holiday rental is just 300 m from the Kornmarkt. This makes it easy to explore the city centre on foot.<br><br>The property includes a private parking space and a small courtyard with a seating area.<br>Inside the apartment, there is a kitchen equipped with standard appliances for self-catering (supermarket across the street), a bathroom with a shower, a living room with a sofa bed, TV & radio, and a separate (master) bedroom, as well as a children’s room with a single/double bed (fold-out) and a single bed with a pull-out guest bed. <br><br>This apartment is extremely flexible, accommodating up to eight people. Ideal for two adults and 1–4 children, or even two additional adults. It can also accommodate 6 adults and 2 children; an extra bed can be added to the master bedroom upon request.<br><br>Bautzen, the City of Towers, captivates not only its visitors but also all its residents time and time again with its wonderful Old Town.<br>Stay right in the heart of the city, in a central location, in a renovated residential and commercial building. Enjoy all the benefits this city apartment has to offer.<br><br>The city centre, with all its shopping options, restaurants, and attractions, is just a few minutes’ walk away. <br><br><br><br>Arrival<br>Check-in is available from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM; after that, by arrangement. If necessary, we’ll leave the key in the key box by the back door.<br><br><br>Departure<br>Check-out is available until 10:00 AM; please return the key to the key box by the back door.<br><br><br><br>Parking<br>The property has its own car park behind the house. Access is via the Steinhaus: either to the left of the house (the gate may be locked—you’ll be given a key) or to the left behind the gym, through the Steinhaus grounds.<br><br>The car park has five spaces; the two on the left are for guests. To check in during the week, you can pull over briefly in the LIDL car park across the street (using a parking disc) to pick up the key.<br><br>Additional parking is available at the Holzmarkt (50 m) to the left of the building, across
