Find hotels in Bastiani from £54

The best area to stay in Bastiani is the historic centre, particularly around Piazza San Marco, for its convenience and access to the city's main attractions.

The historic centre is Bastiani's heart, characterised by its narrow, winding streets, known as calli, and picturesque canals. Piazza San Marco is the city's most famous public square, home to the Basilica di San Marco and the Doge's Palace. This area is very walkable, with many shops, restaurants, and gelaterias dotted along the main thoroughfares like Calle Larga XXII Marzo.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will find the historic centre ideal. Staying here means you're just steps away from iconic landmarks, allowing for spontaneous strolls along the canals or an evening gondola ride. Many hotels in this area offer beautiful views of the canals or historic buildings, superb for a memorable stay.

For travellers who appreciate a quieter, more residential experience but still want easy access to the main sights, the Castello district, just east of the historic centre, is an excellent option. It's a bit further from the busiest tourist spots but still well-connected by vaporetti (water buses).

The best time to visit Bastiani is during the late spring (May to early June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the crowds are smaller.

During late spring, the countryside is lush and green, and the vineyards are beginning to flourish. The temperatures are comfortably warm, typically ranging from 18°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the rolling hills and charming towns without the intense heat of summer. You'll find fewer tourists than in the peak summer months, allowing for a more relaxed experience at popular attractions and restaurants.

Early autumn offers similar advantages, with temperatures usually between 15°C and 22°C. This period coincides with the grape harvest, known as vendemmia, which is a fascinating time to visit if you're interested in wine production. The landscape takes on beautiful golden and russet hues, adding to the scenic appeal. Many local festivals celebrating the harvest and regional produce take place during these months, offering a chance to experience local traditions and cuisine.

While Bastiani is lovely in the summer, July and August can be very hot, often exceeding 30°C, and are generally the busiest months for tourism, meaning more crowds and higher prices.
