Found the Campanile on Expedia based on price and distance. Read the reviews and thought "How bad can it be?" Well - not bad at all! Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room for the night and extremely comfortable bed. Close to dual carriageway but we didn't notice any traffic noise. Evening meal a bit "ready-meal" but a great breakfast and late check-out if you want it. The next day the lady who sorted out our breakfast was also really friendly smiling and happy to help even though it was a full house. Great breakfast too.thank you. I think they have long-term guests staying here as there are a lot of personal effects outside the rooms. The rooms look clean but on closer inspection, my attention to detail is needed. Breakfast is plentiful and cooked to order. The hotel is basic, but the rooms are clean and comfortable. The grounds and the building needs updating, however, there is nothing to suggest that it’s run down. The company are keeping on top of decorating and updating. The food was cooked for enjoyment and there was plenty for breakfast for the price Just a reminder to anyone staying, if you haven’t got a do not disturb notice to put on your door, in the room, ask reception for one also I understand they also have a pet in the room one as well. Guests need to be reminded of the need not to slam doors at any time particularly at night, slightly annoying that parents allow their children to run around in the dining area. The first room they offered me had not been cleaned but they quickly sorted me out with another one. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were so small that hardly there was any place to walk. Very old and rundown rooms with bad carpets. Slightly cheaper but you could go to a better place to stay. Staff were friendly though. Breakfast okay. This hotel needs a complete revamp and refurbishment.
