We stayed here for 1 night and it was more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. The wooden floors and stairs are noisy and we felt like we had to tip toe around at night so as to not disturb other guests. We were glad to only stay one night. Breakfast was simple but nice in a pleasant outdoor setting. The view over the ocean is lovely. Hotel organised us a taxi to airport in a good taxi 25USD
I've always been a fan of boutique hotels which is what caught my eye when I was looking for a place to stay in Lima.
I arrived very late and upon my arrival the hotel owner came out to greet me. He spoke to my taxi driver to make sure I didn't get ripped off. He checked me in and walked me to my room. It was truly such a great welcome at such a late hour. I was immediately impressed by the hotel's decor as I walked in. It was beautiful. Tall, tall ceilings and unique furniture. I felt at home immediately.
I was dead tired from trekking 40 miles in the andes the previous days - the bed was comfortable and the sheets were divine!
What was once a mansion was converted into a boutique of 11 rooms, each one is uniquely decorated with hand picked items from the hotel owner (Giancarlo).
In the morning they made me a custom breakfast which made the hotel feel like a bed and breakfast as well. The service was impeccable and for the rate that I paid, I couldn't believe it.
So far... the hotel is a gem, the staff is FANTASTIC, it's time to explore the neighborhood! It's definitely a very lively area with tons to do. It's colorful and just fantastic. Many of the old mansions have been converted into restaurants/bars. Tons of cute shops, and close to the waterfront for a nice stroll and great view of the sunset.
Loved staying here, highly recommend to any travelers looking for a unique experience in Lima, Peru in one of the best neighborhoods!
We stayed for three nights in a room with ensuite bathroom. The late-19th century colonial architecture of the boutique hostel is beautiful ... inside and out. The room was good-sized with mini fridge and safety security box, . The hostel staff were all attentive, helpful and very friendly. Location is good ... a few blocks away from Barranco's town square. Wifi connection was good, breakfast was okay.
The only thing we didn't really like was that the ensuite bathroom was quite small.
Overall, this is a highly recommended accommodation in the Barranco/Miraflores area.
