The villa is pristine and spacious, and sits on the edge of a residential area outside of Barga. The property has a private not overlooked garden and pool property has the benefit of fantastic views across fields, with the mountains in the background. There is a private garden with barbeque, terrace, and pool ideal for enjoying restful days at home. There is a light and airy feel to the accommodation which consists of 3 good sized bedrooms, 2 shower rooms, entrance hall, living room and kitchen/diner, leading into the garden and large eating terrace. All accommodation is situated on the ground floor. A fantastic choice for those wishing to be within walking distance of all the wonderful facilities of beautiful Barga, but with the benefit of those views and away from the hustle and bustle! Fuller information on layout and facilities: From spacious hallway the living zone is to the right, with french windows leading to sunny terrace. Through from living room you find a spacious kitchen/diner with dining table, oven, hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and microwave. The kitchen also has double doors leading to the terrace where you can dine al fresco or relax overlooking the pool with a mountain aspect. There is also SAT TV, dvd, a cd player and free WIFI The night zone is to the left of the hallway and has 3 good sized bedrooms; one is double and two are twins (one of which can be double on request - ask in advance) A further single bed can be added to one of the double rooms if required. There are 2 good size shower rooms. There are shutters and also insect screens which are rare to find in the area. A little about the area: Please note that automated distance information can be misleading in rural areas. Although some places may appear close “as the crow flies,” walking routes are often impractical. Casa Patrizia is situated only a 15 minute walk (less than a 5 minute drive) from the historic centre of the mediaeval town of Barga. The hilly, cobble stoned centre has wonderful views, bars, restaurants, Cathedral, plenty of interesting architecture, art galleries, theatre, Saturday morning market, and lots of little piazzas for quality al fresco dining or for just watching the world go by. Closer to home there is a restaurant/pizzeria, shop/bar within a 2 minute walk of the property. Further afield, there is the market town of Castelnuovo (famous for its Thursday morning market) within a 15 minute drive…. We were welcome to take anything from the extensive fruit and veg garden and were given loads of cherries when they were picking them. The pool is very welcoming especially in the heatwave when we were there. Barga has many excellent places to eat but it is quite a long walk into the town if no-one wants to drive, especially as it is a slow up hill trek (\~1.2km). It is shorter coming back! We were warmly greeted upon arrival and found a plate of baked goods on the table for us and a bottle of proseco in the fridge. The house has beautiful views of the mountains and a very nice swimming pool although it was too cold for swimming while we were there it would be a real treat in warmer weather. We walked to old Barga everyday which is about 20 minutes uphill, a car would have been handy especially given the rainy days, but we managed. The beds were comfortable and the space was roomy and well appointed. We had a great stay and would reccommend Casa Patrizia without hesitation. ##### Pegine Q. The owners were lovely and provided us with everything we required. The pool area and views from the terrace in particular are stunning. We like to cook and we had pretty much everything we needed to be able to do as we liked. The sleeping areas are fine. Two things to keep in mind. There is no air conditioning so you need to be careful and use the shutters and windows to best effect. The second is the hill leading to the town centre. It takes 15 - 20 mins to walk there, all uphill. This wasn’t an issue for us but might be for some.
