Bardakci Beach holds a significant place in the myths of ancient Greece. Legend states that it was here that Hermaphroditus, the son of Aphrodite, became enamored with Salmacis, a water nymph.

Buses often continue to nearby Gumbet Beach, a modern beach resort and popular hub for watersports. Otherwise, catch a water taxi from Bodrum Marina for a scenic journey around the bay. The beach is a 30-minute walk from Bodrum’s town centre.
