Good: Friendly staff. Clean room. Rooms nice and quiet and not able to hear noises for corridors/other rooms which was great. Comfortable bed. Location 15mins walk from beach and 7 mins to metro station so good location. Not so good: Breakfast room awkward layout with everything in a single line and gets very busy (even first thing), especially when people are waiting for toast blocking the food. Sausages were poor quality mini hotdog sausages which was disappointing. No butter for toast. No tea/coffee facilities in the room as advertised, had to ask at reception for tea/coffee (as shown on the hotel info card) but staff said no and said it needs to be purchased in the bar (eventually they agreed to supply in room). Room very hot with no means of cooling (air con only enables 19 degrees C presumably as it was February). Window only opens a fraction so not possible to ventilate. Tip for travellers: Before buying the WiFi add on for your room at €4 a day, check the signal for the lobby WiFi - my room was on the 7th floor near to the lift and had full signal so saved an extra cost. If intended to use a hairdryer, note you need a €10 cash deposit.

It was a bit far from the major attractions if you’d like to walk everywhere and it would have been nice to have a kettle in the room and power sockets by the bed. Other than that, it was comfortable and quiet.

Small room away from the center
I didn't relise when I booked this hotel that it wasn't near to the centre. We stayed for 3 days and took a cab to town and back each day, cost of taxi averaged about €12 each way. Our room was very small so we didn't have any room for our suit cases. Worse was that there was no bed side tables next to the bed. Apart from these problems the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and professional. Also it was a great buffet breakfast for only €10. For all these reasons I am giving this hotel 5 stars.

We normally stay more central but due to high prices for the two nights ended up in the Travelodge in Poblenou. Good points only a couple of blocks from Llacuna metro station, nice places to eat on Rambla del Poblenou, hotel is clean and modern, breakfast is good but you have to go up several times as they keep running out of things, impossible to get everything at once. Rooms are modern with a desk and TV, mattress is not the most comfortable and only a socket at one side of the bed but it was quiet even with the construction going on outside. Bathroom was clean and fresh but shower head is fixed to the wall which is not the best when you are bigger, much prefer a shower on a hose. Free Wi-Fi, but only in the public areas, if you want it in your room - you have to pay!

It's a travelodge
It was a typical Travelodge room. You know what to expect. The bed was pretty creaky and there was no lock on the bathroom door, but it was only used for sleeping, so not going to complain. If I wasn't a sound sleeper then the noise from outside might have been an issue.

I went with my partner and daughter and requested rooms next to each other didn’t happen she was supposed to be on the 9 th floor and us on the 6th eventually move us after hours of trying and I’d payed for breakfast and was told I didn’t and had to pay again

Travelodge Barcelona Poblenou is simple and clean. It's a five minute walk from Llacuna Metro station, putting the whole of Barcelona within easy reach.

Don’t book!
We will never go back. Way over priced. Disgusting smell in our room, website said free wifi but it was available for 3.90 euros, an extra tax for non- resident of 12 euros was applied but not disclosed at booking. We couldn’t wait to get out!

we booked a weekend trip to Barcelona on this hotel based on pictures and reviews, and let me tell you it was awful, not only the bathroom was dated but full of mold. We complained, and they told us they were going to have a thorough cleanup (IS THIS NOT A STANDARD PRACTICE FOR A HOTEL ROOM?), which never happened as tiles, tub and cracks were black from beginning to end of trip. Also, not even hand soap, bring your own or take from the shower gel sitting on the disgusting shower wall. After one day out we tried to use the lobby's bathroom downstairs and it was so disgusting I don’t have words to describe, worse than a public bathroom! PLEASE save your money or go to this place knowing how filthy dirty it is.

Turned up to a hot non air conditioned lobby. No WiFi even when you pay as it crashes. The hotel itself is dirty. In the room there is nothing to keep your valuables safe eg a safe there wasnt one for valuables. TV wasn't able to change channel as didn't have permission. When opening your window you look out onto a build site which wakes you up at 7am with loud banging. Over all I would rate this hotel a 1 star as it's terrible if anyone thinks it's cheap and will do please pay a little more and stay somewhere else as I haven't enjoyed any of the time here at all very disappointed with this as normally travel lodge are ok, at least let people know what they are booking, as I've said before this is a trap hotel not what it describes.

Perfect location to enjoy Poblé Nou, which is the quiet part of the city closest to the beaches. Hotel is very new and the rooms have a minimal approach. I wished for a blanket on the bed and perhaps a better TV but that’s not why I came to BCN. It was ideal for the location. Staff was helpful but not always USA-style friendly. Room was perfect, breakfast was lovely, staff all were friendly and polite only negative would be no WiFi in rooms was only available for additional cost.

This travelodge was well placed for our stay. Close to the metro and taxi is just outside. Within 10 min walk to the beach great for restaurants at night too. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Great location and well worth it
My 12 nights were awesome! Super clean and friendly staff. Even if we didn't get the room cleaned, the housekeepers would offer to swap out towels. Lobby staff was alway helpful and available. Only know is no mini fridge in the room but I guess with their eco-friendly set up (card key insert to activate power to the room) it really wouldn't be beneficial.
