Welcome to Valentino's House & Pool. Located in the town of Vilassar de Dalt, a charming village in the Maresme 20 kilometres from Barcelona, a great place to enjoy the Mediterranean climate, local cuisine, and natural surroundings. This 19th-century house with a swimming pool has been beautifully restored. Situated in the main village square, but secluded and peaceful, mingle with the locals to experience the real Catalan culture. This beautifully restored 19th-century house is located in the heart of the village square, where all the local activity takes place. Once a textile factory, parts of the house date back to the 17th century. Once inside the property, the only sounds you'll hear are birds singing and the occasional toll of the old church bell, which dates back to the 16th century! The house has been carefully restored to create two unique spaces. However, we have maintained the upstairs bedroom in its original state as it dates back to the 17th century. Layout & Sleeping Arrangements Ground Floor: Large bedroom with two double beds (180x200 cm and 160x200 cm), plus a sofa bed (160x200 cm). 2 Ceiling fans are available in this area. First Floor: Spacious open-plan living area and kitchen with a view of the pool area. This room has air conditioning and a ceiling fan. The second double bedroom is accessed from this area via a short outside passageway and has a ceiling fan. Laundry & Bathroom: Located between the ground floor and first floor, with access to the pool area. Outdoor Area The large pool area is very private and peaceful. It has a table, chairs, and a BBQ, perfect for outdoor dining and relaxation. Amenities & Comfort Double-glazed windows and central heating throughout the house. Air conditioning in the lounge/kitchen. Please refer to the photos for more details. Important Notes Stairs & Mobility: The house has multiple levels with stairs, which may not be suitable for those with limited mobility. Children's Safety: There are no security fences or railings on the outside stairs, so children must be supervised at all times. 🌿 Nature’s Little Visitors: There are many trees, shrubs, and plants outside the house, so during the summer months, ants 🐜, mosquitos 🦟, bees 🐝, and other small insects may sometimes sneak into the house. This is completely normal in this kind of setting. We do not like to use harsh chemicals, as they’re bad for the environment 🌍 — but we do supply some insect spray if needed. The pool may also have leaves 🍃 and the occasional insect, despite regular cleaning. We hope this natural part of the setting won’t detract from your stay. Historical Character: This home has a rich history, with parts dating back to the 17th century. While the entire property has been lovingly restored, the upstairs bedroom has been kept in its original state to preserve its unique character. Due to the old wooden beams and historic, uneven walls, some dust may be present, which could affect those with allergies. Although the house is thoroughly cleaned before your arrival, this is part of the charm of staying in such a special place, and we hope it won’t detract from your experience. Other Information Pets: Sorry, we do not accept any pets. The property is equipped with an alarm system that you can activate when you leave. It is for the security of the house only and does not involve any surveillance or monitoring of guests. Right outside the property, there is a café/tapas bar—perfect for sitting out, enjoying a drink, and mingling with the locals. Please note that parking in the main village square is limited and in a Blue Zone (you’ll need a ticket). However, there’s free parking just a 5-minute walk away. Nearby Attractions ⛱️ Beach: 2 km away 🌊 Isla Fantasia Water Park: 1.5 km (a short walk) 🚴 Poma Bike Park & Hiking Trails: Nearby Transport: 🚌 Direct bus to Barcelona — Moventis bus line 805: Just a 5-minute walk from the property, the bus gets you to Barcelona in 30-40 minutes. Closest train station: Vilassar de Mar (2 km away). Take the Moventis bus line 803 to reach the station. The bathroom and kitchen are stylishly designed, boasting great appliances and the pool is clean and was lovely and warm throughout our stay. The top bedroom Is very cosy and quiet, while the bottom room is spacious and airy. It’s very clean and has been carefully and thoughtfully maintained. Best of all, it’s situated in a really friendly town square, yet because of the thick, old high walls, it feels quiet and secluded when you’re in the house and outside by the pool. We loved the local area and the community. There’s everything you need within walking distance and everyone is very helpful. Any little issues with the villa were dealt with promptly by our approachable hosts and we had a relaxing, comfortable holiday! ##### Jessie L. The house is located at a nice church square. Check in process and overall communication with owners was excellent. However, we were confronted with some surprises: -the add mentions airco in the house, but this is only available in the living room (Rooms have a fan). -The (non-renovated) children’s room is located at a separate part of the house, required to pass by a balcony (long distance from parents room), with a balcony of a separate house just below. -WiFi is inexistent. Preferably, the add should be amended to better reflect this reality (especially for parents with young children) Overall cleanliness leaves to be desired. Great restaurants in the immediate area + plenty of commerce stores for provisions ##### Filip A. The livingroom, kitchen and main bedroom are very spacious with a very high ceiling, giving it a very free and open feel. The outdoor area is also spacious, especially given the house is right outside of the town's main square. The house is well insulated because once in the house the sounds from the square are very distant. The swinning pool is not massive but in accordance with the website photos and very refreshing on hot days. Kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom has all we needed as well. On one of the previous reviews there was a complaint about the distance of second bedroom. This was no issue for us as we used the main one for the four of us but one should not expect it to be used for small kids only. The distance from the town to Barcelona was absolutely fine.
