Lovely hotel set in the Gothic Quarter
As a single female traveller, I was a little worried about travelling to Barcelona on my own. From the moment I arrived at the hotel however, all my worries dissipated! The staff on reception were so friendly and very welcoming! Throughout my stay they offered to help me make bookings and recommended places to eat.
I had a deluxe room which was lovely, light and airy! The bathroom was great and good water pressure from the shower. Sufficient storage for me, but I can see how it would be a little on the small side for two people sharing. Also, you do hear and feel the vibrations of the passing metro every now and then which would one of the only negatives I have to say. The maid who came in everyday did a fantastic job - my room looked and felt brand new everyday!
The hotel is set in the Gothic Quarter, and is a two minute walk from the Catedral de Barcelona & Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar. As mentioned, the metro is right on your doorstep, as are numerous buses. It is very close to the beach and the main Gaudi attractions and I had no problem getting to and from the hotel - I couldn't have asked for more!
I didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there are some fantastic places to eat nearby, and endless choices for dinner! I ordered room service on my first night - quick and friendly service, and very tasty! Also had free Nesresspo coffee in the rooms :)
All in all, I had a fantastic experience at H10 Montcada Boutique Hotel, and would not hesitate to recommend it!
