Modern sleek central hotel with friendly staff.
Our welcome at the hotel could not have been warmer or friendlier. We were treated like visiting royalty. Our luggage was whisked away and placed in our room and the concierge invited us for a free glass of wine and nibbles in the pleasant ground floor bar whilst he showed us the hightlights of Barcelona on a map and helped us book flamenco and a great dinner out.
Our room was quiet and comfortable. It was perhaps a little smaller than one might expect for a five star hotel and since it was an executive upgrade, I wonder what the standard rooms are like.
As the weather was poor, the roof top bar was not open. It looked like a great place for a drink in sunnier months however.
Now the criticism. I travelled with my adult daughter so perhaps we aren't the most sensitive to the issue, but the lack of "bathroom privacy" is a bit annoying. A lot of modern hotels seem to suffer this. The door to the toilet was made of frosted, not fully concealing glass, and in direct view of the beds. The door was a sliding door that did not meet the door frame - so this hotel is for people who don't mind too much if they hear a little "bathroom activity" from their room mate. We switched the television on loud!
