Good hotel in a great location

Posted 30-Aug-2015
Pros: Great location, clean, modern and fantastic services
Cons: Breakfast price (15 euro per person per day) and toilet door is very strange!
Location: Most sights are within walking distance but if you prefer there are plenty of taxis around or the metro station is close by
My wife and I stayed at the Cram for 4 nights during August and really liked this hotel. Service was great from checking in early, to answering queries and service at the bars / breakfast etc. There is a really good little pool and roof terrace with great views across Barcelona. We stayed in a superior room which was a good size for a city hotel and had a very comfy bed as well as a good bathroom with nice powerful shower. Be warned though - the door to the bathroom was frosted glass but with a very strange full height section left see through looking onto the toilet (took a bit of getting used to!). The street below was noisy but with the windows shut you wouldn't know that and the black out curtains were great (make sure you set an alarm!). The hotel breakfast, although good, was pricey and we fell for this at checkout - be warned that it 15 euros per person per day. The location was fantastic and most of Barcelona can be reached easily on foot. Despite a few small niggles and strange 'design' issues, this is a very good hotel in a great location and we would recommend to anyone considering it. Tip: If arriving via Aerobus, get off at Universitat not Plaça de Catalunya, it is just a 5 minute walk north at this stop to the hotel.

Great location!

Posted 03-Aug-2015
Pros: The roof top bar and the location.
Cons: The bathrooms...so bad.
Location: Restaurants in every direction! 4 blocks from Casa Batllo and 8 blocks from Plaza Catalunya!
The best asset of the Cram is a quiet but convenient location. You are not in the middle of the craziness of La Rambla but an easy walk away in a quiet area filled with restaurants and bars. The hotel itself is nice...not amazing. It needs some updating. The bathrooms are in desperate need of an update. Under no circumstance should a bathroom have a barely frosted glass door with a toilet facing it, no matter how chic it may seem...just NO! The shower had cracks and leaks and the world's shortest/oldest shower spray contraption. My 6 foot tall husband was not pleased and 5'7" me was bending down as well to shower. The bed was nice...no complaints there or with storage. We had a "balcony" or a place to put your feet that is technically outside your room. Book a terrace if you want to hang out outside of your room. Breakfast on the roof top was great!! Well priced too! The bar up there stays open until 1pm or so and one more nightcap overlooking Barcelona after a big meal was a big plus. The staff is fine...pleasant enough. We got in early and they didn't even look for a room for us. We were just handed a map and told to come back at later. I clarified that check in was 1pm and was told maybe 2pm was more likely. I told him we'd be back at 1pm and we did get our room. Overall, don't expect amazing but this is a nice little place with some pluses!

Wij hebben ons prima vermaakt in het hotel en er omheen. Ik raad iedereen aan er heen te gaan, alles wordt netjes verzorgt en personeel gaat goed met je om.

Excellent location for a relaxing city break

Posted 31-Jul-2015
We chose this hotel for its location and roof top pool. Even though the pool was small, it was adequate for a cool dip after a hectic day sightseeing or a hot day sunbathing on the roof terrace. Towels and robes were provided which was useful for using the pool. The staff were friendly and accommodating and the bar staff made a mean sangria! The rooms were clean and compact but provided everything we needed. We didn't take up the breakfast option as there were a wide variety of trendy cafes and bars for eating out all through the day and late into the night. Excellent location within easy walking distance to the famous Gaudi sights and the top of Les Ramblas.

Hotel with good location

Posted 21-Jul-2015
The hotel seemed wonderful and our room was beautiful. The amenities offered are great and the views from our balcony and the pool are wonderful. However, we could not control the temperature of the room and even after 5 calls to the hotel staff we could not get the ac turned on and spent the night sweating. Also, we noticed multiple ants in the room eating crumbs from a previous occupant. I am very disappointed in the condition of the room and all of the dust and debris on the corners of the room. For the price we paid, I expected better and for a "luxury" hotel I wish we had control of the temperature.

Great location, great staff, very comfortable.

Posted 15-Jul-2015
Pros: The privacy, the balcony, the quirkiness of the interior.
Cons: The cleanliness of the rooms could be improved, the rooms are also starting to show signs of wear and their age now, but only upon close inspection.
Location: Food - Cinc Sentits & the hotel's own Angle restaurants are both great michelin starred restaurants.
A lovely hotel that has almost everything you want from an inner city hotel in Barcelona.
