The going nightly rate was one third of what we paid .The area is a slum tower upon tower crammed into one area .At least 1 thousand people in each tower . I counted about 12 blocks. It is suitable for back packers or those wanting really cheap accommodation close to Don Mueang Airport without the comforts of a hotel room. Being the first time to stay in an apartment where local Thai community lives, it was a wonderful stay;the Thai people who live in the apartment were so friendly. Being an Asian myself, I felt totally at home. Apart from the landlady in-charge of the guesthouse who was very helpful but could do better if she can understand and speak in better English, it wad a home away from home for me. Next time I go to Bangkok, I will stay away from hotels and stay in a similar guesthouse. It's a room in a residential apartment, it's not a hotel, there will be no one to greet you and you will have to depend on your cabbie to find the place and on strangers to get you into the locked building. When I got into the building... by waiting for someone to open the door, I wandered around until a friendly neighbor helped me find the room. It was an unlocked apartment and there was no key... Friendly neighbors though! Also friendly restaurant around the corner, you will be the only farang in the area. I stayed here because it was close to the airport, but it's not as close as it seems on expedia. It was really cheap though!
