Recommended, beautiful resort, friendly staff. Two great pool areas and restaurant albeit a little expensive. Rooms are well equipped and clean. Car is a must if you want to get to Beaches and restaurants, although there is a good Bus service that runs hourly but is a 10-15 minute walk from the resort and not recommended after dark. Nearest Restaurant Santa Maria Pizzeria which is on main road is a must visit, great atmosphere with a real Italian family vibe and great food.

The Monte Turri hotel is a small hotel on the top of a hill overlooking the bay. The view is lovely and the breakfast good. That’s where the enjoyment ends. First impression last. On arrival the property looked abandoned and closed. It wasn’t. Check in was seamless but there was nobody to carry the bags - we brought our own luggage from the car to the room. For the 4 days that we stayed, the lift was broken for 3 of those days. The pool in Monte Turri is horrible and guests are most likely to use the facilities at Borgo (just below the Monte Turri) or Arbatax park resort). The 2 pools at Borgo were dirty but one was filthy. The entrance is poorly marked, no clear parking and no lights at night on arrival. The room smelt and the Air con was non existent. The soap in the shower was hand soap and bath foam! No shampoo or shower gel. The shuttle service is a con - if takes you to arbatax park but doesn’t take you down to the bay below Borgo , which is a very steep walk. We asked several times for a shuttle to the bay but were refused. The shuttle is good to Arbatax park. The bar in Monte Turri is closed and there is no table service in the main room. You get water on arrival but no water is provided daily to your room. The wardrobe smelled so we didn’t use it. Signposting around the resort is poor, especially trying to navigate from Monte Turri at the top to the bay at the bottom, which involves hundreds of steps. Maintenance is shocking, I could write an essay. Do not stay here.

The area was unkept. Empty bottles and glasses outside. No doors opened at 3 pm when we circulated the entire property. We thought the place had gone bankrupt. Eventually we pounded on the door and an elderly man came to the front door. He could not understand our frustration of not being able to enter. He came outside, next he got locked outside - malfunctioning front doors. He circled the outside of the building and came back to re-open the front door. The hotel is old, run down, homeless individuals were in the back doors. Messy. Run down and looks unkept. We left and did not stay even though we had paid for our 2 nights. Felt very unsafe and unkept. Did not feel secure for 2 women. Please select another hotel.
