Friendly staff but very over priced. The Gathering restaurant was freezing and several items off the menu. Layout of hotel is strange and resident bar not OpenDoc to staff shortages! Overall disappointed?

Perfect stay in Scottish Highlands
Stayed for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon across various parts of Scotland. We had an amazing time and we're very grateful to Mark and team for looking after us so well. Location is fantastic, surrounded by breathtaking scenary. Food is great at both restaurants - one is more fine dining than the other. Parking was super easy on site and free. Room was clean and as expected for what we booked. There is also an outdoor sauna and hot tub which was a nice suprise. Overall great stay and consider this a bit of a hidden gem.

Has potential.
The hotel was rated a AA 5 star, sad to say that it must have been in a previous life as there was absolutely no way I would rate it in its current condition a 5 star. The hotel needs a complete refurb for one and certainly new mattresses. Our room was tiny as well. Why do hotels always use the word comfy when it means tiny. However, having spoken to the general manager who has recently been brought in, I think there is a change a coming. I did notice a few new touches such as a few cushions and curtains and what looks like fresh paint. The food in the restaurant was exceptional it has to be said and well worth the money. It was the general manager who served us, and served us well he did. He spoke of his want to change things and I hope he gets the backing. If he does, under Mark the mangers I’ve no doubt this will be an excellent hotel. It’s just wasn’t worth the £320 per night as it is now.

Lovely hotel, but book direct not with Expedia. Really great hotel, menus (especially breakfast) were inspiring, bar staff knowledgeable and friendly. Family room was little challenging (double bunks) but not without charm. They coped very well as Expedia had booked our family in as two adults not (2 2) and managed to get things sorted out.
