I took this photo at Mljet Island, Croatia last summer. It was truly a paradise there! This is a small lake within the island. In fact there are 2 lakes on the island - Malo jezero ("small lake") and Veliko jezero ("large lake". But maybe more technically "big lake". A native speaker knows the answer!). And the views were here amazing. There was lush green beauty everywhere. And the water was so gorgeous. It was really peaceful there! And this is actually inside a national park - Mljet National Park. The best views, unfortunately, are actually from above. Many of the famous photos you will see of Mljet are taken from the sky!

Mljet is the southernmost and easternmost of the larger Adriatic islands of the Dalmatia region of Croatia. The National Park includes the western part of the island, Veliko jezero, Malo jezero, Soline Bay. The central parts of the park are Veliko jezero with the Isle of St. Mary, Malo jezero and the villages of Goveđari, Polače and Pomena.

Best hotel in Croatia. The family that operates it are very kind and professional, and the staff reflect this sentiment aswell. Sipan is a very special place. The island is lucky to have this little hotel perched along its cliffs. I will be back soon.
