Hideaway at Lori's Lair for your next beach vacation! Located on a large corner lot on the quiet, west side of Kinnakeet Shores, this split-level home sits close to the pedestrian bridge for easy ocean access. You will have access to the Kinnakeet Shores Pool, tennis courts, and the Brand NEW Pickleball Courts. Lori's Lair features two carports, an all-weather entry, and a basketball goal outside the house.

The first level opens into two large bedrooms. The split-level has a spacious bedroom with a shared bathroom and a washer/dryer nook. The expansive living level features cathedral ceilings, juniper wainscoting, and a superb east-facing dining area. The living area has a gas fireplace (available in the off-season only) and a built-in entertainment center. In the well-equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar, your home cook can prepare formal dinners, hors d'oeuvres, or steamy cappuccinos for hungry hot-tubbers. Outside, the furnished east, north, and west sundecks follow the sun.

​​​​​​​The westside screened porch is a newly constructed Tiki Bar. Upstairs, the split-level features a large master suite with a 42-inch TV (all TVs are equipped with Roku streaming) and a private bathroom. An additional fifth-level bedroom has a queen-size bed and a queen sleeper sofa.

Wonderful Family Vacation at Lori's Lair

We loved staying at Lori's Lair and found our stay quiet and peaceful in Kinnakeet Shores. My family enjoyed the closeness to the Club Vacasa pool, as well as Food Lion and the Avon Pier. The house was perfect for our family with plenty of seating in the living room, and we enjoyed using the dining room table for game nights. The side yard was an added bonus, the kids loved playing football and volleyball in this space.

Absolute Relaxation

Lori’s Lair, was a beautiful and relaxing home away from home. The location was perfect for everything that we wanted to do! This home was very “family friendly” as it provided many things for small children (babies) such as high chairs, booster seats, and even a Bumbo Seat, as well as a pack and play. Decorated with such “beach style”, made being at the beach for older people who didn’t get out on the beach everyday, still allowed them to have a total “Beach Experience” We loved it and would like to stay again!

The house was very satisfactory and was definitely a good bang for your buck. However the house overall could use some updating and some maintenance to bring it to a 5 star. Loved the amount of windows and the screened in porch was a bonus. Loved the lot beside it as well. Hot tub was closed for unknown reasons but still was able to have a good trip regardless.

Perfect place with an incredible price

Loris Lair is nicely spread out to allow for 5 couples to enjoy the stay while still maintaining privacy. The cleanliness of the house is impeccable and the BEST we have experienced in Avon for the last 10 visits! The only downside is that there are only 2 bathrooms, but close friends can manage this. We are already looking to rebook Lori's Lair for future stays!

Good house overall

Spacious house. Great overall. Nice furnishings. Hot tub was very very old and didn't work. Mold around the faucet in the hall bath but didn't affect our vacation at all. One of the nicest I have stayed in over many years in our budget range. Will stay here again.

We will be back...

Our first trip to OBX went amazingly well. The house met every need that we could have wanted. The location was great, the supplies provided were more than we could have used. The check in process was incredibly smooth. There was always someone available at the desk to answer questions. The office also had a computer and printer available to guests. We were able to purchase a beach pass to drive on to the beach in our vehicle and print it out there.

Subpar home at best

The kitchen was fully equipped and the carports were nice to be able to do what was needed out of the sun. The hot tub didn’t work, there were hair balls on the steps, the air return was so dirty it had an inch of dust on top and the furniture was uncomfortable. We have been staying in OBX for over 20 years. Every now and again we get a house like this.

Ample space for a family of 10 Comfortable for adults and small children Living room has electric outlet mounted in the floor - dangerous and a significant trip hazard. Needs to be properly covered. Television is not connected to DVD player.

CUTE AND COZY

This is a wonderful home for your vacation. The pricing is excellent for what you get. It’s very clean, the rooms are spacious, and the kitchen is well equipped. There is a newer washer and dryer and a nice hot tub on a screened porch. The deck is a u shaped around the house so that you can move the deck chairs to follow the sun light. We rented Lori Lair the week of Thanksgiving due to the fact our family likes the non-commercial tourist part of the island and Avon was the perfect choice! It’s great the Food Lion, Dollar Tree and some other shops are just a quick walk. I would rent this house again we were overall happy with our choice; however, I must mention the hot tub was turned on Saturday morning before arrival and it took two days for the temperature to reach 95 degrees. It was cold outside and the wind was really blowing…. we are disappointed it took so long to use the hot tub! (two days) One more item worth mentioning. We rented the house expecting a working fireplace, upon arrival we tried to start the fireplace, and it did not work, after 3 work orders in 3 days the rental company called on Wednesday before Thanksgiving to inform us they could not locate someone to fix the fireplace and they would have to call the owner. We never heard from the rental company nor the owner. The lack of a fireplace in the winter at the beach was a big thing for our family and no concessions were made, nor a follow up phone call. However, I saw many gas trucks delivering propane throughout the subdivision.
