The ground level has a double concrete carport. The first level has four bedrooms and two baths. A master king with ensuite bath featuring access to the oceanfront covered deck. Two queen bedrooms and a room with two bunkbeds share a hallway bath. The second level features an open great room with fantastic ocean to sound views, convenient half bath and sundeck. This home is just one lot from six miles of completely undeveloped National Park land. So if privacy and comfort are what you're looking for this vacation, we suggest you go TOPSIDE! New for 2024: Master bedroom will now be a king bed. One bunk room upgraded to a queen bedroom. Two new queen mattresses. New kitchen island with seating and storage. New refrigerator. The location is ideal: walking distance to the beach, 2 min drive to Food Lion, and across the street from a gas station. The house is a little older, and the deck could use some care. Only issue I had was with the online pricing and booking process. The beach access was tougher to get to then the pictures show. My elderly mom had difficulty getting to beach and we’ve visited OBX many times, this was our first time in Avon. Our teenage kids drove separately and arrived to the house before we did and after we got the text the house was ready with our code. When they arrived there was someone in the house and she quickly left once she saw them pull in the driveway. We found out no one was staying there the week prior. That person was not supposed to be there and it made us uneasy the rest of the trip. The bathrooms were dirty when we arrived and needed cleaned. We had an issue with ants in the kitchen, and there was sand in some of the beds. After reporting these issues to Surf or Sound it took almost the whole week before someone came out to fix them. We will definitely be back in OBX again and loved the area. I don’t like to give bad reviews and hopefully these issues get fixed for the next family that stays there. ##### Jeffrey O. The beach was almost empty, the sound side beach was just a quick 2 minute drive away and there were so many small businesses close by to support. The house itself was not cleaned well. Coffee was still in the pot, confetti, markers and toys on the floor from previous guests. It could use a deep cleaning but it was satisfactory. The decks were great for hanging out but many of us got splinters throughout the week from the boards so we made sure we wore shoes when we went outside. Despite a few issues, we had a great week. It’s the perfect place for quiet time with the family and hanging in the beach. Easy to get to the ferry to visit Ocracoke island and lighthouses. ##### BethAnn M.
