This special home away from home, close to all Austin has to offer, is nonetheless a private hideaway. The verdant property is nestled alongside a spring-fed creek and tree-lined greenbelt that offers access to the beauty of the Hill Country. Featured in the movie Abilene and on HGTV, the one-of-a-kind Austin Glass House is a perfect retreat for couples seeking a romantic escape or those looking for a relaxing getaway. This architecturally-acclaimed glass-and-steel house is defined by towering 30-foot windows that provide a 360-degree integration with the outdoors. The upstairs bedroom features three decks and an in-room coffee cart is perfect for enjoying your morning brew while watching the sun rise over the wooded canyon below. The spacious downstairs bedroom boasts an open-air shower with three ceiling-mounted shower heads, an oversized jetted tub for two, and glass walls that bring the outdoors inside. Spend time on the peaceful patio, snooze on a hammock, sit by the chimenea, or take a hike on the shady Indian Creek Trail, which offers views of fern-lined grottos and crystal-clear water. The Austin Glass House is just 30 minutes from downtown Austin and minutes from popular Lake Austin and Lake Travis. Nearby Lakeway offers breweries, wineries, distilleries, fine dining, and other amenities. Other Details To Note- The driveway is steep and must be driven down slowly. Follow the arrows to park close to the steps to the house. If you don't feel comfortable driving down the driveway you may park at the top in the designated parking area and walk down steps. Four cars can fit at the lower level. The house also has interior steps that should be considered if mobility is an issue. For guests with young children please note that there are interior steps as soon as you walk into the house to get downstairs to the living and kitchen area. We do not have baby gates. We treat for pest on a regular basis however we are surrounded by nature and occasionally you might see a bug in the house. House Rules- \-Smoking of any kind not allowed \-Parties or events not allowed \-Fires only in chimenea and no candles allowed \-Please no climbing or sitting on rock walls \-No commercial photography unless prior approval \-No more than six people allowed overnight \-Please no parking on street \-Quiet hours from 10pm-10am \-Only Toilet paper in Toilets. It was absolutely beautiful. We were sorrounded by nature, but we we also were able to drive just 20 minutes into Downtown Austin. It is exactly as pictured, but even more stunning in person. It was very clean, and the host included everything you could possibly need. If you are looking for a great "getaway", this is the perfect place. Whether it be the trees moving in the gentle breeze, or the birds and squirrels playing in the amazing rock wall, the views intimately connected us to nature and made for a very relaxing getaway. Place was clean and really cool. Very organized and a lot of kitchen items were provided. Attention to detail was put into it at this property. When staying, make sure to follow instructions for cooling the master as it can get warm with the shower and have a car / suv that can make it up the driveway. We have a high standard for cleanliness and this house met the standard. Great decor with beautiful views. Even though there are neighboring houses the way this house is situated makes it very secluded with a private feel. The house provided everything we needed and more when cooking. Downstairs bedroom was the best experience. Deer and fox were literally outside the bedroom. Beautiful trails are right outside the back yard. Host was very clear about the parking down below. Close to places to eat. A place to get your mind or relationship back on track. Peaceful beautiful clean place to unpack your mind . She loves the outdoors and unique houses and this checked both boxes. Driveway is pretty steep for those of us who grew up on the plains. LoL. But it’s workable. Trail was easy but great fun.
