We booked this trip for a Father’s Day weekend getaway with family. We should have done our due diligence, but admittedly, we missed reading over the reviews of this property. Don’t make the same mistake we did! The property is located in a beautiful part of town with great views. But unfortunately, that’s as good as it gets. The home’s condition unfortunately is horribly misrepresented by the photos in the listing. We faced the following problems during our stay: 1. Bugs, everywhere. We understand bugs outside the home, especially being in the hill country. But inside we encountered roaches, crickets and a variety of others. 2.Electrical issues. Some fans and lights didn’t work at all. Others flickered constantly. 3. The “large bedroom” downstairs is a converted garage that uses a mini split ac unit that cannot keep up with cooling. This room also is used as a storage unit and has mattresses and various other items thrown about all over the place. 4. There is trash all over the property. The driveway that leads to the pool off to one side has random chairs and other items just piled up with overgrown weeds everywhere. There was also about 5-6 paint cans left on the porch. 5. The deck is a hazard and is in need of repair in multiple areas. Overall, we do not recommend this property. We should have made our concerns known immediately but felt we were stuck between a rock and a hard place with no alternative.

Perfect Family Retreat

Stayed here over the weekend with extended family celebrating my nephew's recent college graduation. In a word...amazing! The house is beautiful, the view is breathtaking, and the layout of the upper balcony and lower entertaining space with outdoor pool were perfect. Exceeded our expectations, especially the deer-watching!

The home was perfect for our weekend vacation!!!!!!! Beautiful home with amazing views of the hill country. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants to spend the weekend poolside in the hill country. Probably our favorite feature of the home were the spacious decks around the pool and upstairs...great for sitting around at night to chat with friends. Very close to 71 and Lake Travis! Awesome house!!!!

We rented this house for a bachelorette weekend. It was perfect. We were greeted by deer in the back as we drove up. The house had everything we needed and more. It has a breathtaking view and the 'infinity edge' pool is to die for. The upstairs balcony complete with a large hammock is equally relaxing. The house was clean and extremely comfortably furnished. The owner was extremely helpful and promptly answered any and all questions. We have rented several houses from VRBO, some great, some not so great. This one was exceptional. WE would certainly stay here again.

If you like roaches, broken furniture and poorly repaired bathrooms, this is the place for you!

After being offered a bribe of 1 night reimbursement by the owner in exchange for not leaving a review, I am ethically compelled to share our experience. Before arrival, the owner called stating that maintenance failed to present as scheduled to repair a few boards on the deck, so furniture was placed over them. Upon reading previous reviews, the decking has been a problem, so this was not new and I am skeptical whether anyone was actually scheduled. Decking is extremely dangerous, with broken boards and splintered wood. The railing upstairs is shaky and I would be very cautious with small children as there was a gap in the railing that a small child could squeeze through. Much of the furniture is broken or on its way, including outdoor furniture, a bar stool and the couch. The beds are all pretty terrible, particularly in the large downstairs room, where it visibly slumps in the middle. The bedding consists of sheets & a light blanket & upon arrival there were damp sheets & towels in the dryer. There is also a lip missing on one of the stairs with exposed splintered wood, & the stair above is cracked with the lip about to break off. While cooking in the kitchen we discovered there was no smoke detector, as it had been visibly removed from the ceiling. There were 3 coffee cups in a 4 bedroom house & we had difficulty with the coffee pot. The microwave handle was broken and had obviously been previously glued. Most of the lights flicker when they are turned on. The upstairs tub drains very slowly & leaves black sediment in the tub. One of the handles in the master bath sink does not work & the toilet seat downstairs is damaged & near breaking off. You will notice most of these are not new concerns if you read previous reviews. The most disgusting part, however, was the roach infestation. A pacifier was dropped on the floor in the middle of the night & upon looking under the bed to retrieve it, live roaches were seen crawling under the bed. In the kitchen, roaches scurried around in the dishwasher anytime it was open & also climbed up the wall while cooking, on the counters & dining room table while eating & in the trash. Owner was responsive, but only offered 1 night reimbursement in exchange for us not leaving a review. We are ethical people & don’t take bribes, particularly at the expense of others, which is why we are sharing our experience with you. Though the roaches and beds were awful, our main concern is the safety issues.

I wish I would’ve taken the more critical recent reviews seriously. Some outlets in the kitchen didn’t work. Roaches in the cabinets, crawling on the kitchen walls. This must’ve been a previous issue as pest control was scheduled before I notified the owner. They did nothing but say they would need to come back to do a full treatment since it was carpenter ants and German roaches. This being the case we had to leave a lot of our food to avoid taking them home with us. We bought our own roach traps/spray since the owner did nothing about it. Roaches trend from previous reviews. Dryer doesn’t dry completely. Stove has issues, error codes. Beds are uncomfortable and squeak with slightest movement. Coffee pot didn’t work, though we didn’t really want to use because of the roach issue. We had to drive to HEB to buy a new one, again no response from owner to rectify. No Pool/spa remote, owner said previous renter dropped in pool. We were instructed to text owner for the spa to run. Texted - only the heat worked, no blower in the hot tub, no lights in the pool/hot tub until last day. Instead of coming to the house to rectify, she asked me to adjust pool panel buttons. Also loved the hot dog floating in the pool when we first arrived. Half the stay, the pool was murky w/ white debris. Varying wood on the patio is warped/splintering. Don’t lean on the wooden patio rails as they are very flimsy/huge hazard. Half of the hanging patio lights work. Far contrast from pictures. Shower curtain downstairs was disgusting. You can see where it looks like they Kilz’d mold. Toilet seat is pealing/partially broken. There was no door to the first floor bathroom, only to toilet room which is very small. Microwave door handle is broken, have to finesse handle to open. The cold water knob in the master bath didn’t work, seemed broken shut. Owner sent “pool guy” to address pool concerns but couldn’t get new pool/spa remote to work nor change out the disgusting brown shower curtain, they left that for us to change on our own. The gas pit hardly works, probably caked with grease/crusted particles and hardly put off half the gas it should on high. If this were my house and lived 15 minutes away (per the instructions and text), I’d come right over to address whatever I could and make my customers stay as comfortable as possible, not the case here. She was accepting of the issues and didn’t bother aside from what she could do via text or her phone. Definitely false advertising

Poorly maintained

This property is not well maintained and it does not look like the pictures. For example, the closet doors were off the tracks sitting in the rooms. The pool and hot tub were nice but there were no directions on how to turn on the spa and jets. We had to text with the owner to turn it on. The property is not well stocked and there were not instructions provided for check out or any information about the area. Overall I was disappointed with my stay and think the property needs some upkeep for future guests.

Beautiful wedding terrible VRBO

We were so disappointed with this home My whole family stayed for my daughters wedding. There was Roaches and dust everywhere. We were not happy to find roaches in the coffee pot, on the table as we sat talking and in the trash can. The bathrooms needed cleaning, the shower heads were covered in hard water corrosion. and mold on the downstairs shower head. Overall the house was dusty the furniture uncomfortable the sofa frame was broke along the back the seat cushions were sunken in. The lighting dimmed on and off downstairs whenever turned on and there was not enough heat to keep it warm. The location was great but that was the only upside. Would not recommend this VRBO

Great stay for a large group!

Our group of 13 has no problem with space at this stay. We enjoyed the outdoor space (the pool is great and a needed reprieve from the heat). Amy was communicative and available when needed. Our only difficulty was that we were often using rideshare apps (uber, lyft) to travel downtown and it was difficult to secure transportation at certain times. I would recommend cab or other transportation service for future groups. Overall great stay!

Mid week getaway

Overall great experience at the house! Pool and hot tub were both very clean and in perfect conditions! House inside was the perfect size for 10 people to sleep comfortably, and still have a big enough living room and kitchen space for all to enjoy together! Although about 10 min away from town (dripping springs) being away from the city lights made for a peaceful and enjoyable nights under the stars. Overall was a great stay and Amy was an amazing host who helped us whenever we had questions and even got locked out by mistake of our own! 10/10 would book this house again!

Great pool and spa

Nice home with great patio, pool, and spa. Pros - pool (even in April with all the pollen it was clean and warm enough to get into) spa (heats up fast), deck chairs were comfy and clean, great big table in the dinning room, beds weren’t the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in but they werent awful by any means, lots of “extras” like dishes, a DVD player, pool towels, easy to find. Cons - the cute Italian bulb lights by the pool don’t work and there is very little light out there so once the sun went down it was too dark to hang out by the pool and no great photo opts like in the house pics. Also half the lights on the upper deck didn’t work either so very hard to have fun outside without light. Also, the view in the photos is not really the view any more due to the McMansions being built on the hill the house over looks. This isn’t the owners fault at all, just FYI. There were 2 lights out in the kitchen as well. The fridge (which is big and very clean) doesn’t really get all that cold. For example we put cokes and beer in at 3pm and the next morning nothing was super cold. The house decor is ... a lot. If that’s your style, by all means go for it and there were lots of photos so we knew what is was going to look like, but also there are still Christmas decorations up (it’s April). House ran out of toilet paper on our last morning and we couldn’t find any extra. The grill is very dirty. Please know, it’s not a bad house at all! Again, the days spent by the pool made anything not so great worth it for sure. I just think. It was a lot of money for so many little things to not be taken care of.

Beautiful Place

We had a great time at Hill Country Resort. The house was very clean with plenty of towels and linens to go around. The view was beautiful and the pool is in the perfect location for partial sun and still a good amount of shade. We had a great time at this place over a girls weekend. There were a few steps back and forth, but it is a good way to get exercise. The only thing missing was a small refrigerator downstairs for easy access. There are two entrances which made it perfect for having cars above and below. Thanks Amy!

Such a great place!

We decided to run away for a bit in the height of quarantine. It was the perfect getaway! They allowed us to keep the pool heated (for an extra charge) and it just made the trip so much better. The adults loved it, the kids loved it, we would definitely book this house, and rent from these owners, again and again. Any issues we had, we would text and receive an answer straight away. Thank you so much for the perfectly relaxing, much much needed, trip!!

Not a good location or home to stay in

So my husband and I booked this home because in the photos it looked so beautiful and we loved it. So we drove for 11 hours from Florida to Texas and when we got to the home we drove in the back way thinking it was the front way for the enter so we used the gate to the pool to get inside the house thinking that we could go threw the gate to get up top to the house to get to the key well we couldn’t so we seen this other gate and we used it and there was a ac unit with a concrete with green algey and mold and my son got excited and slipped on the concrete and I picked him up went back to my family and said no you can’t get up top that way either. So we got back into the truck and drove up the next drive way and that was the actual way to the home but they did not show the pics of the actually full viewing of the home with the concrete path way of home in a full frontal view.. so we was unhappy about the false advertising photo vacation homes. Then we go inside and I told my son to wait so I can sanitize the toys bc of the corona virus 19 going around and he didn’t listen bc he is 3 and picked up the toy and it got his hand all brown bc the toys was not wiped down and it was not clean.. then we go into the kitchen and we noticed that there no gate hanging up in the kitchen like it showed in the photos.. then we go into the bathroom and turn the switch on and the switch fell off and I had to put it back on and I’m like wow I’m not liking this place not once so ever. So I went to my husband who is a construction manager for his company to tell him what happen and he said wow I’m glad he didn’t get hurt real bad and I’m looking at there porch and it’s really old it’s nothing like it’s showing in the pics I said no it’s not so I grabbed my phone and texted the owner of the property and sent her text after text informing her of how this home is false advertisement because we paid allot of money for this home which also includes the taxes and protection plan and she read it and I told her we are checking out tonight instead of in the morning and she read it then we Checked into a really nice hotel for a cheaper price for what we paid for this home.. I texted her Wednesday and asked if we could just have the money back for 701 for just the portion of the home since we did not stay there at all and she said you would have to contact Vrbo they will probably not refund you your money. So all in all not a good home to stay at..

Great pool, nice view

The property was very nice, well stocked with the essentials to get you started. Amy was very responsive the whole time, even was reachable through her personal cell phone. Ample parking. If I had to leave something that could use improvement, it would be the downstairs bedroom that leads out to the pool takes a long time to get cooled off, which was not that big of a deal after the first night. This room seems to be a garage turned into an extra bedroom, so watch your step! all in all, great time. We would come back if we are ever in the area. Thanks Amy!

Great Time in South Austin

We had a good time at the property and my grandkids especially enjoyed the pool. The weather couldn't have been better and the owner was very helpful in addressing any issues that arose during our trip.
