  • A cattle-themed 3-bedroom South Austin home with a BBQ-grill backyard, fast Wi-Fi and room for 6. It's our closest house to the wedding venues: 2 miles to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, 8 to Chapel Dulcinea, 11 to Canyonwood Ridge and 15 to Dripping Springs. Students and families visiting the University of St. Augustine are 2 miles away. H-E-B is 2 miles, and downtown is about 8. Pets welcome.

    THE SPACE
    A king in the primary, a queen in the second bedroom, and a pull-out twin trundle (two single beds) in the third, so 6 people sleep comfortably. Cattle and farmhouse decor throughout, a full kitchen with a combo K-cup and drip coffee maker, a soaking tub, TVs, board games, a washer and dryer, and extra towels.

    The backyard is where it all happens: fire up the grill after the rehearsal dinner or the night before the big day. There's an iron for your formal wear and plenty of getting-ready space for the wedding party, and bachelorette groups love it here. Park in the driveway and let yourself in with the keypad.

This was our second stay at the Cattle house, it’s an ideal spot for us. The quiet residential neighborhood is great, house was very clean, and the fenced yard works great for our dog. Stores and restaurants within close driving distance. All makes for a great stay.

We loved the neighborhood and enjoyed hiking at dick nichols park. You can get there through the neighborhood for a nice long walk. House was perfect for us and our dogs. Spent some time in Austin and also in HillCountry.

We enjoyed our stay at the Cattle house. It’s in a quiet residential neighborhood with sidewalks that made it easy to walk our dog and was nice to have the fully fenced back yard. Very convenient location. The kitchen had what we needed for cooking and an HEB close by. The beds were comfortable. Communication with the host was easy and efficient. Great for what we needed, we would stay here again.

Worked better than a hotel for us.

Decent older home that is mostly renovated with a few older features. Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable beds and clean working bathrooms, so all our needs were met. A good value for the price in Austin.

The house fit our family well and was comfortable. We loved the backyard for our dog. The house just felt a little dirty. The bathrooms had hair in all the drains, mold around the corners, and hair in the sink. The washer and dryer were full of linens and sheets still damp from last persons stay.

Everything you Need

Spacious house with everything you need for your stay. Communication with owner was fantastic. Comfy beds. Nice walkable neighborhood which felt very safe. Master bathroom could use an update, but overall nice house. Good value for price.

cozy comfy stay

The house was clean and ready to be used when we arrived. The rooms are kinda small, but the beds are super comfy. Austin had freezing rain during our stay, and the owner was able to accommodate our needs. Living room now has two sofas instead of a sectional. We had 6 people over the age of 12, and no-one was tripping over anyone else. Thank you for a great stay!

Overall, good stay! Homey property

The property was nice and we were pleased with the items on site such as pack and play, high chair, iron, and hair tools. The master bathroom was slightly dirty with a large fake eye lash on the floor and stains on the towels. Water pressure was so so and shower heads were very short. We had to buy trash bags for our stay and a lighter to light the fireplace which was one of our only sources of warmth since the thermostat kept auto changing to a cooler temp. Kitchen was fully stocked otherwise and had dishwasher pods under the sink to run loads. The beds were very comfortable and we liked that we were close to things but not so close that it was loud or bad traffic. I’d probably give it a 6/10 overall simply because of the trash bags, master bath, and temperatures. Good stay otherwise!
