Upon arriving, we were greeted with a strong musty odor, and standing water along the wall of the apartment where the door and window are situated. The host was responsive, but because it was a holiday, it was a few days before someone could come look at it, but there was no easy fix. It leaked again a few days later before we left. The rotting bottom edge of the front door along with the musty odor indicates that this has been a problem for some time.As others have commented, you won't find a plug near the bathroom sink, so if you need to use a hair dryer, your options are limited. Also, as others have commented, you will need a sound machine because a nocturnal tenant resides in the unit above. In addition to the loud TV, you can hear a chair sliding across the floor all night long. I quickly realized and found replacement linens closet. The unit is a perfect size for a party of one or two, for folks looking for basic accommodations without a lot of frills. The bed was very comfy. The location is fantastic if you're looking to embed yourself in a cool neighborhood for your stay and walk to food, coffee, entertainment, etc. We loved that aspect, even with all the street construction nearby. Communication with the property management was speedy and reliable. All very much appreciated. However, the unit is old and the renovations are primarily surface-level. The walls and floorboards were visibly dirty and stained. The bathroom was marginal, and the unit smelled verrrry musty. The smell was probably my biggest complaint. I thought I could get past it, but it was very prominent. There was also a huge dumpster right outside our door that was overflowing and did not get emptied during our stay, and that also smelled. The dumpster is not the property owner's responsibility, of course, but its proximity to our unit just added to the overall unpleasant odor. It was really a shame. I get it that these apartments are old and have seen a lot of traffic over the years, and that this is a budget accommodation, but the smell is a deal breaker for me and I would not rent again. ##### Nicole B.
