All of the staff were excellent and very helpful, the restaurant food could not be faulted. But the hotel rooms need a good clean, dust and cobwebs . Safe not working and room iron needed to be replaced due to damaged cable , covered with tape.

Was offered a free upgrade to the newer/modern building but after viewing both chose the older section. Room 17. Absolutely stunning view over the rain forest to the Auckland city and downtown. Very spacious living area. Nice spa. It was dated and worn as we were told so at reception (and offered the free upgrade) but we needed the kitchenette and couldn't bypass that view. Felt like a tree house. The other units in that building didn't have the view. Parking was tight but convenient. Didn't try the pool as it was too cool of a day. Great view there though. Did not not try the restaurant either although the menu looked great and the there view stunning.

Sooo disappointing. When we arrived at noon we were told there was no lunch served through the week, but without a car we had nowhere to go. The closest restaurant is a 15 minute drive. Thankfully the kind receptionist took pity on us and brought us tea. No food. When we got into our room we noticed the cracked toilet, the water damage on the carpet, and the peeling paint. We came to this area for the hiking, but there is only one small trail available from the resort and one longer one. That’s it. Once again without a car, you don’t want to come here. On a high note, the dinner and breakfast were delicious! The views are gorgeous! Plus the staff was very good.

Assistant from staff was excellent. We were offered a room upgrade but enjoyed the one we'd chosen, as it had lots of room and was comfortable. The complimentary body wash and moisturiser was wonderful with the manuka honey and kawakawa ingredients. We loved the quirky scenic drive from the main road. Nice views of the city.

I loved the quiet surroundings. The staff were excellent - very friendly and accommodating. The bed was really comfortable. The room was excellent - spacious and had everything I needed. 2 small things I didn't like - the fridge needed a clean and so did the drawer in the bathroom.
